Arrive FAST, In 2 days. Excellent quality kit. Easy onboarding with a decent book and youtube video. The app is great but there will be a learning curve to figure out how to assign readings to a project. Right off the bat, I am getting precise measurments on my Kombucha and Jun fermentation projects. Considerably more accurate vs the Lamotte soil kit which bottoms out at 3.8 to the tenth with their PH water tools, but I need measurements as low as 2.50 to the hundreth. Also, the tannins in the (tea substrate) Kombucha significantly alters the sample color so the ph indicator solutions are not accurate, and my fermentations were off by at least 1 full PH. The PH60 read the precise value that exactly matches the research (I.E. Taste, bitterness, oder, CO activity etc). Excellent purchase for Kombucha, Jun fermentation, Water Kefir and Kefir Cheese projects I have going.

This is my review of the Apera PH-60z (Bluetooth model) First off this is basically the same exact model of Apera's PH-60 it has replaceable sensors as well as different sensor attachments for things like food, pure water, etc. The only difference between this (PH-60Z) model and the regular PH-60 is the Bluetooth functionality and the device has a clear back case that allows you to see the internal boards and batteries. Functionality: I'm using this meter to measure PH in my plant feed/water I have tried all the cheap PH meters (looking at you Vivosun) made by the lowest bidder in China. None of them compare to a high quality meter like this PH-60Z. If you were only measuring TDS (total desolved solids) then I'd say go with a cheap one like Vivosun because the technology there isn't that hard. When it comes to PH don't trust those cheap ones they will be inaccurate and become uncalibrated fairly quickly. Don't make my mistake and waste money by trying to save money! If you are using this for growing in coco coir you only have a small window range of PH (5.5-6.2) to work with so plants can uptake nutrients. Don't waste months giving your plants improper PH levels because the cheap meter you used. Spend the extra coin and get an Apera like this one. You'll be happy you did. You could even get the regular PH60 (non Bluetooth for half this price around $79 US dollars. I payed $129 for this Bluetooth model. Bluetooth functionality: I went with Bluetooth so that I could connect it to the ZenTest app. When measuring PH you may have to insert the sensor into a small opening making it very difficult to read the screen. Thr Bluetooth version eliminates that problem by sending the data to the app. It also logs every single reading and fluctuations it detects. Customer service: Customer service appears to by USA based and has a direct phone number to support which is good in the unlikely event of an issue. Overall opinion: This is an excellent PH meter that will hopefully last me a long time and leaves me with confidence that if an issue were to arrise the company would stand by their product.

This is, of course, brand new so no comment on durability. Seems to work fine, well constructed. Uses AAA batteries which is a positive for me, most use hard to get 'wafer' batteries. Bluetooth connection instantaneous with no problems. However, the software is very non-standard and confusing. It does data log, but log save file function does not work on either of my phones (S23 and S8). Still it is worth it to me since for my application I can't stand next to the process when it is being tested, so I need a remote view function. In addition, only one meter at a time can be monitored. It does flip back and forth between my pH and ORP meter, but it will not do two at once.

I am a beer homebrewer. Tracking pH is vitally important to make sure I come up with a good batch. The Apera PH60-Z does just that. The instrument itself is a breeze to calibrate and to measure by beer as it progresses through the brewing process. The app also makes sure I don't forget to record my results. Very pleased. I highly recommend the PH60-Z.

without writing it all down, Iphone app seems to be a little easier to use than android but overall I love it bc i do hydo and i like to keep logs of every reading I take and this just keeps me from writing it all down on paper. Can even go from android to iphone or vice versa just gotta make sure app syncs up before you close out and you can switch over to other device. Very accurate and gives you something to measure your solution and also calibration solutions which is a plus bc would have to buy regardless and has enough to last a while too. Never heard of brand before so was little worried but after reading reviews and actually using this device i dont really wanna go back to anything else to be honest. Love everything about backlight is nice old meter didnt have so always had to shine light on it in the dark to see if i was in low light situations. Almost wanna get the all in one meter with tds just so i got data on everything. But atm this will do as i just write PPM in notes section on logging so no bg deal but just one more extra step i wouldnt have to do if I get the combo meter. Anyways great product you wont be disappointed just dont forget distilled water as you need to dip probe in it to use/calibrate so will need that other than that it has everything to get you going.

I bought this device for measuring the PH of reverse osmosis water that I give to my plants. The Apera PH60-Z has Bluetooth features which I found appealing, since I like to keep a log of the PH readings. I used the device for less than a year without any problems (simple to calibrate, too). However, last night the device fell into the bucket of water that I was about to PH test, and the top of the device came loose. I should note that this top cap, where batteries and internal circuitry is housed, has NEVER had a tight seal, ever. I have literally never even had to change the batteries, since I’ve only been using the device since Aug 2019 (currently March 2020), so I’ve never had reason to open the top cap, but I’ve noticed on more than one occasion that the cap wasn’t sealed properly after basic use, so I took care to keep it closed and sealed as tightly as possible. I realize now that this was some kind of defect, as it allowed water inside the battery housing and thus has caused the device to go completely haywire. I dried out the insides very thoroughly after it landed in the water by removing the batteries and breaking down the device completely, even using a blow dryer at a distance of several feet away from the device on a no-heat setting (just air, no heat). Once I put thee device back together, the display on the screen is not functioning properly, nor will it connect via Bluetooth to the Zen app. I read through the specs and instructions included with device, and both very clearly state that the PH60-Z has an IP67 waterproof rating, which is defined as: “ IP67 means the unit can be dropped into a body of water up to a meter deep for half an hour, while IP68 guarantees protection in water up to 1.5m deep for the same period of time.” When I contacted Apera (the device is still well within warranty) they told me that water damage isn’t covered, and that’s why it’s important to make sure the device is sealed at all times. This really makes me upset, because I have never mishandled, abused, or neglected this device, and yet they refuse to honor the warranty despite touting the device as IP67 waterproof. What a joke. Apera makes false claims (obviously the device is not waterproof if it can’t survive a VERY quick 1-2 second dunk in a 5 gallon bucket of water) and refused to honor their warranty. I am a founding (and very active) member of one of the most popular and heavily trafficked cannabis grower forums on the web (rollitup.org) and I have a YouTube channel with over 150K subscribers, (in addition to my blog) and I’m going to make sure I let everyone know about the kind of company that Apera is. There are much more scrupulous companies to buy from like Hanna Instruments. Don’t waste your time with Apera.

I have tried 3 other pH meters and they have all had their gripes while some have failed me after the first week or so. So far this product has been the opposite and has been working very quickly and efficiently as well as it seamlessly connects to the app and gathers data. 100% recommend this product if you are looking for an actual quality pH meter worth your money.
