Overall the assembly was pretty easy and straightforward. Directions only have pictures with no details which is the reason for 4 stars. Did have to take a couple pieces apart and redo. Gorgeous once it’s up. Took around 5 hours to assemble.

The louvered pergola is a wonderful addition to my deck, completes it in a perfect way. When closed, it keeps the covered area dry. You can also open it and enjoy nice sunny days. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this pergola. It is made of some type of aluminum with a very nice coating, that feels like plastic. I don’t think that the pergola will ever get rusty. It is solid and sturdy and comes with options to be mounted to concrete, wood or metal, according to your needs. It is easy to assemble, with no special tools necessary. Everything you need is provided and the instructions are very easy to follow. It took my husband and I about 3 and a half hours to finish. I love everything about it!

The media could not be loaded. So let’s talk about this louvered pergola. Now first thing I want to point out that this is not a regular pergola like I have seen previously at stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s. I have purchased pergola before they are not louvered. What does that mean? That means the pieces on the top are static they do not change. They are straight bars that you cannot turn in twist. However, this being a louvered pergola means you can twist those to open the top or close it. One of the issues when our pergola is not louvered is that you can’t really close or seal the top. That means if you’re under it and it starts to rain, you’re going to get wet. Or if the sun is directly overhead, those rays are coming right down on you because you have no shade. The nice thing about a louvered pergola is that you can close the top. You can turn the different top pieces so that it becomes a solid surface. This is great when you want to keep out rain or sun. Now one important thing to remember is that this is still a pergola so you can open that up. One advantage I think a Pergola has over a gazebo is that you can open up the top. This means it’s a lot nicer during rain, storms or wind storms because it’s not like a giant sale that’s going to blow away. Because air can escape it makes it much nicer. It also prevent it from getting too hot underneath. You have some natural ventilation going on. Overall I thought this was a nice pergola. It comes in five boxes. Some of them are heavy. Make sure you have all five before you begin assembly. There are many pictures of this already assembled so I will post some of my unboxing experience. This came very well packaged. Each box tells you exactly what’s in the box. That will be helpful for when you assemble it. I recommend you take each piece out of the box and identify them. They are well labeled with letters. Once you do that, it should help make assembly go a bit smoother.
