When you install this, do any screws actually go into the wall or the wooden window frame? The exhaust vent does not require any screws. It is adjustable to fit most windows, and is sealed by closing the window against the vent frame. Does this unit have a removable water tray? How often does it need to be emptied? So I received the portable A.C. box was intact and no damage. I unpacked it and set in my cabin/ tiny house until I finish it then I can try it out. It's heavier than expected. Not a problem but something to remember. It came with the drain line, remote and owners manual in vent hose. So as of now it's not a helpful review, so I will try to update after I get to use it. 12 July 2023 update: I "fired it up" on 4 July as finely needed. Working great with the cabin, the vent hose is just long enough to reach one of the windows. I had to trim off the window mount to get it to fit... so no going back now. Now on with the I need to improve part, I plan on wrapping something around the vent hose to keep it from dumping some of the heat back in on way out window. I read the reviews before ordering and the directions before use. So I hooked up drain line and haven't seen any water drained out yet, it's been used for A.C. 3 days so far and as a fan otherwise. The unit is being used in N. Alabama to give you a climate of use AKA: Hot and humid but not as bad as Savannah GA, Florida or Huston TX. Ect. Ect. Power used I'm not sure of yet, I know that I used more than the other A.C. I have in a shed but it's a 5000 btu window unit in a smaller area (10'x16'x6.5') with good insulation. This one is covering 4 times the area. (12'x26'x9.5') The unit will be a secondary unit. Soon as I will have a mini-split installed. ... show more

We've only had this for about two weeks, so I can't comment on efficiency until I get my electric bill (why I gave it four instead of five stars). However, this was very easy to install and learn how to use. It took me a second to figure out which drain was used in which mode. Our second storey is very warm in summer, and this has helped keep us cooler since our central A/C struggles a bit with our old house's insulation (or lack thereof). I just put a box fan in the doorway to push the cold air to the other bedroom or my office down the hall. The remote is convenient. I like the fact that I can easily adapt this to another room in our house if needed, especially if I can set our central A/C temp higher or to "off." **Edit: after almost a month of use, my electric bill has only gone up about $30 as we've been able to turn our central A/C up. Our second storey is much cooler, and I put a fan in my office door to push the air into that room (my office has no air vents, so no heat or A/C). This unit is no louder than a regular window air unit or a fan. I have already recommended it to a few other people. If your house is newer and better insulated than our circa 1900, then this unit will probably work pretty nicely for you. ... show more

We wanted to get out hands on some best quality possible affordable AC that would do the job of keeping us cool and wouldn’t take us to broken lane and honest to God this AC definitely did the job hitting it outta the park. Works as promised, super strong blowing cool air teal hard IN LOW MODE I haven’t even needed to set it in High since as is keep us cool. I had to buy 2 for my kids room and mine and so far everybody’s happy; not hearing complaints from my kids and wife means this AC is Awesome Thanks for reading and get yours asap. We do not have central air conditioning, and in the summer my son’s room gets very hot. His room is approximately 12 x12, and this unit works incredibly well and was very reasonably priced. It has some very nice features which included remote control, which, of course, he loves. You can set it up with a timer for nights, and it also measures the temperature of the room, which is another nice feature. Installation was super easy. I would totally recommend it! ... show more
