  • Easy to set up and good quality out of the box.
This product arrived and was operational within 3 hours. Was very easy to set up and easy to calibrate. Only issue I am working to resolve is minor stringing on the print. I think it has to do with a retraction issue. The slicer software is easy to use and works pretty well, however, as I get more into the details I can tell I am going to need a more feature rich slicer. I think my stringing problem has to do with retraction, which the slicer program included does not allow for adjustment of retraction. Overall, great printer, easy to use and good quality which I am sure will improve as I get better at calibrating. ... show more

  • Printing Difficulties.
I have been using this printer for the last couple of months. It is amazing to me how much time has passed as I have bought this product on Amazon and have used it to make several items. I will focus on a few key points. 1. Successful and Failure Rates. - I could say that I have had some success with this printer. But saying I have had more failures would be more accurate. I have been tracking my prints failure and pass rates and am very sad to mention that I have had a 30% success rate. Heat Creep is something that I dealt with on the first print and have never managed to shake. Having to clean after EVERY PRINT would not be so bad if it insured a successful print afterwards. If it did I would not be writing this review. What really bothers me is that I know other 3-D printer hobbiests in my area and they all do bare minimum cleaning and have almost never had problems! Yet here I have to clean after every print or the success rate goes down to 0%. 2. PLA Included with Machine- I do not know what they filament that this machine comes with is made of. I wish I did because if I knew now what I did then I would never have undone the packing it came in. It ruined the very first nozzle I put in after the 4th print I had done. With plastic getting so hard and warped that the nozzle heating did not melt it anymore. DO NOT FEED THIS THROUGH YOUR PRINTER. I love 3-D modeling. I love the concept of the Ender 5 Pro and its quiet motors, which are very quiet comparetively. THIS IS MY FIRST 3-D printer, so maybe it was my skill set that is lacking, but from what I am seeing this is NOT the printer you should start with. IT WILL RUIN your expectations when it comes to 3-D printing. I am not going to say I want my money back because I can tell you I feel as if though it would cheapen my review as a beginner in this hobby. The silver lining is that I have learned how to dissasemble this machines Hot End and everything assosciated with it to a very deep and personal level. I understand the wiring and how to strip it down quickly now and how to clean a nozzle very well, because believe me, with this printer there is no other opition than to do so. I should also state that I have been through 2 Capricorn kits, 3 nozzles of brass and 1 hardened nozzle in 2 months of operation. JUST TO HAVE A CHANCE OF SUCCESS PER PRINT. Whatever printer you get please dont choose this one. As of writing this I have a MircoSwiss, ANOTHER CAPRICORN SET UP ordered, and new nozzles coming in for this printer as I am desperate to make it work. The price is good, the cost is not. Sincerely, A very dissapointed begginer. P.S. This is the first and maybe only review on amazon. The mere fact that I made a post on Amazon is very out of character for me, so please believe me when I say, this dissapoints and saddens me greatly. ... show more
