  • Great little remote, no wired dongle needed, and a great price
Style: Black for Nikon
The media could not be loaded. I am using the Aodelan BR-3 rechargeable wireless remote with my Nikon mirrorless camera. Initially pairing the remote with my camera was straightforward – it involved turning the camera on and going to the menu to select the wireless remote option and “Save wireless remote controller” and turning on the remote control and pressing the pairing button. The process took just a few seconds to complete. Once paired, it was simply a matter of turning on the camera and turning on the remote and then waiting a couple of seconds for the remote to connect to the camera. The shutter button on the remote takes a photo when the camera is set to camera mode. The button does not support a “halfway-pressed” mode to show the focus point or check the exposure. The red record button on the remote starts or stops video recording when the camera is set to video mode. The remote does not have a built-in timer option but works with the timer option on the camera. The OK button and four directional arrows can be used to modify the focus point for the camera -- similar as what can be done using the multi-selector button on the camera. Pressing the OK button moves the focus point to the center of the frame. The plus (+) and minus (-) buttons do not zoom a camera lens between wide and telephoto, instead the buttons zoom in or out the image shown on the display and when zoomed-in set the focus point to the zoomed-in area. The Fn1 and Fn2 buttons provide separate functions from the Fn buttons on the camera and camera lens. On my Z7 II, the Fn1 and Fn2 buttons on the remote can be set to one of the following: a) Same as camera playback button (picture review/video review); b) Same as camera MENU button; c) Same as camera “i” button; or d) None. The things I really like about this remote include: 1) the ease of setup and use, including no need to carry and attach a separate wired dongle to the camera to use the remote; and 2) the ability to shift the focus around using the arrows or using the plus and minus buttons. There are a couple of minor downsides: a) the screen is very hard to see outdoors, even when in a shadow; and b) the lack of a halfway press of the shutter button to set focus and exposure means you may need to take an initial picture to get the readings for the focus point and exposure. I am tempted to take away ½ star from the rating for this remote due to the lack of the half shutter press function, but given the value for price of this remote, I’m rating it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Screen is a game-changer; works great for both photos and video recording
Style: Black for Sony
This Aodelan remote camera control is a solid buy — super compact and the layout just makes sense. It’s rechargeable, which is awesome, and comes with the cable you need. No more hunting for batteries, which is a big win. Connecting it to my Sony a6600 was a breeze, and it stayed locked on, no connection drops. It handles everything like a champ, from snapping single shots to bulb mode and recording video. Honestly, compared to my old clunky Sony remote (see photo), this one’s a major upgrade. It’s smaller, cheaper, pairs up faster, doesn’t need those tiny batteries, and even has a button just for video. But the best part? It’s got a screen! Makes shooting so much easier and less of a hassle. What’s Good: - Small and really easy to figure out. - You charge it, no batteries needed (cable’s in the box, just not the wall brick). - Bluetooth connection is quick. - Keeps a solid connection. - Works well for both photos and videos. - Better than the Sony one, for about the same price. - Video button is handy. - Screen is a game changer. Just One Thing: - No charger block included (but surely everybody's got more than one). - Do yourself a favor: READ THE (well written) INSTRUCTIONS FIRST. (Hint: there's also an outdated but useful YT video that gives you a general understanding of how to set your camera up to use a remote control - watch it, too!) Basically, if you’re looking for a remote, the Aodelan is a solid pick. You get a lot for what you pay, especially compared to other similar options. ... show more

  • Good but not perfect - it works for the most part on Canon R5
Style: Black for canon
Good but distance for reception is a bit short for my needs. Also, can't switch back and forth remotely from video recording to picture photography.

  • Best remote I've used!
Style: Black for canon
I've used remotes with my Canon R50 previously, and have always had mixed results. The nice thing about using a remote is that it is generally small, discreet, and fool proof. It also keeps my phone free rather than using my phone as a bluetooth remote. However, most remotes I've used before have less range than the bluetooth on my phone, and use button cell batteries I often need to replace, leaving me frustrated when I go to use the remote and it is out of battery or low on battery. This AODELAN bluetooth remote fixes a lot of the problems I have previously experienced, and am excited to have this in my bag for shoots on the go! This remote actually has a power on/off function, which helps to extend the battery and keep it from drain. Additionally, it's USB-C chargeable! Yay! This is a huge feature in my opinion, as the CR2032 batteries are a hassle to replace and I never seem to have them around. Some additional nice features: 1. Battery level display 2. Signal strength display 3. Visuals to let you know what mode you are in I get the full 30+ft advertised range, which is more than I can say for other models. There is nothing I would change on this remote. It's not the cheapest option out there, but I feel I can rely on this remote more than others, and the user experience is much better. ... show more
