  • Superb engineering
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Max
High precision and fast prints with excellent output quality. ( I use either a .8 or 1mm nozzle, not a weenie .4, for all my work and the extruder handles it effortlessly. ) The bed surface is a joy, holds the print in place well and releases it easily when cooled. My only criticisms regard minor firmware issues; for instance, if one decides to disable the part cooling fan temporarily during a print, they will discover that it will not turn back on later in the print. Also there is no way to incrementally increase or decrease printing speed slightly , one is stuck with 'Stable', 'Standard', or 'Sport' modes. This means one spends a lot of time dialing things in with the slicer/repeatedly loading the print file for every slight change in speed, a real pain in the butt. As all makers know, with a wide range of filaments and model parameters to work with, getting the exact perfect print speed can be a chore, and an incremental speed adjustment feature would save a lot of time. Another quibble is that Every time I shut the machine off and start it again later, the bed z calibration settings seem to vanish, requiring a bed level run on every startup, which consumes a lot of time. On the plus side, the motion-correction software seems to work quite well; the table I have the printer on shimmy's a bit but this does not affect the print quality. The pictures show my first project on the printer, a 420 hour print of 2 custom designed speaker enclosures in matte black PLA, along with a SPL graph of the finished result. They are double-walled with fine quartz sand between the walls. ... show more

  • Looks awesome. Doesn't work!
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Max
I put the machine together. The document says put on flat surface and turn on. I do so and the machine goes bonkers. My flat surface is not stable enough. It bangs into the wall. Never does it say turn it on with plenty of space and stand back. You just turn it on and it goes bananas and destroys itself. I get it to print one model just fine and it never printed another model again. I've been working with support for over a month. They send me documentation that is inaccurate and makes no sense. They tell me to adjust rollers that are not adjustable etc... I spend more time with support who says they will send me a new bed and head. The bed showed up but the head never did. I burned through 5 rolls of ruined filament trying to get this thing working. Now I have to find a box and my business has to wait a few more months to pay its bills because of Anycubic. This is the ONLY printer with a bed big enough for my needs. And it simply does not work. People are telling me to hairspray the bed? really? I am returning it waiting weeks before I can try it again. Because there is no other product I can buy big enough. And my business is STILL DEAD IN THE WATER. Let's be honest now. Has anyone gotten this thing to work, and how? ... show more

  • Easy to setup and so easy to use!
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo
Purchased it for my kids for Christmas. They love it. I even had them put it all together and it was that easy! They were able to get going with the test prints after just 1 hour of putting it together. We’ve been able to print some great stuff on it. You have to play with the settings here and there to get the “perfect” print but it isn’t that hard. It prints pretty fast and the menu is very easy to use. Will be looking to upgrade once these kids get the hang of 3d printing, but this is definitely a great 3d printer for the price! ... show more

Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Max
I have been 3d printing for a very long time. I have had many many various printers. This is by far the best one I have ever had! It’s crazy fast. Prints so well it’s hard to tell it’s 3d printed at times! Now only downside is that it’s got loud fans and you Will need a solid table to put it on. It shakes seriously! But it doesn’t seem to have any effect on my prints! I will be buying another! ... show more

  • Spectacular printer, some knowledge needed
Size: Anycubic Kobra 2 Max
3D printing is never easy to get into for newbies, even with printers that have so many features to automatically calibrate and update settings. Machines with automated calibration help reduce the amount the user will need to learn in the short-term, though inevitably they will need to learn more as they continue to use the machine. There are also imperfections with the self-calibration of these machines, which is where that bit of knowledge comes into play. However, this machine makes the adjustments much more accessible and gives direct opportunity to make adjustments to multiple settings, ranging from temperature to Z-offset. Having these features available at any moment during printing is a big step ahead of previous generations of printers. The size of the print bed gives the user a much larger area to explore with their models, and the three speed-settings allow the user to further impact the quality of the print (for better or worse, depending on multiple factors). The print quality is great when you know how to properly set the parameters of the filament and print at a reduced speed, as the higher settings are pretty bold and really seem to be more for bragging rights than actual print application. This printer, along with my Ender V3 KE, are the main two printers I use out of my 6 total, and I'm super satisfied with what Anycubic did to upgrade their Kobra Max. ... show more
