Shira Kashi aka Japanese white oak, is so durable it’s crazy!!! They don’t chip or shave off as easily as traditional hickory stick. They have a different feel to them due to the denser wood material. Overall best sticks on the market for not that much more price range wise than a traditional hickory made sticks!! I like these oak drumsticks for my son they lasted a whole lot longer than the others that I had purchased in the past the other side purchased would be broke within 2 days of him receiving them he's once a blasted almost 3 months now and yes there are four pairs however that's still a lot longer than 2 days each the bad part is it's really not the bad part considering you get what you pay for I guess is the cost ... show more

These are the most durable sticks I have ever tried. One pair has lasted me months of playing at least 15 mins a day. One pair of these will genuinely outlast an entire box full of cheap sticks, while sounding awesome! Totally worth it.
