  • Good chilling
Does a good job coming a bedroom. 12x15. One note that needs to go to the seller... The box is so tight it is nearly impossible to get this out of the packaging.... Box is not put together with tape it's stapled together with large doubled 3-in Staples and carefully carve the box into pieces to get it out of the box.... You do not want to tip it over to try and cut out the bottom. It was funny trying to inbox it ... show more

  • Don’t buy. You get what you pay for.
Worked great right out of the box. Got it 3-4 weeks ago to use in the garage. Suddenly it wavers back and forth between AC and just the fan. Out of the blue. Don’t buy. The price is too good to be true.

  • Quality
Awesome fair priced quality piece of machinery that cools down my 24ft travel trailer in 10 minutes.....it is a game changer didn't want to spend a 1000.00 on a RV air-conditioner so this is a great alternative basically run the hose to a window and plug in and have a cool environment thanks!

  • Efficient 3-in-1 Cooling, Dehumidification, and Air Circulation
Stay cool and comfortable during sweltering summer days with the Antarctic Star Portable Air Conditioner. Engineered with a rating of 10,000 BTU ASHRAE (6,000 BTU SACC standard), this compact AC unit provides powerful and consistent cooling for rooms, bedrooms, home offices, and living spaces up to 300–350 square feet. Designed for versatile year-round comfort, this 3-in-1 appliance functions as a high-capacity air conditioner, a high-efficiency dehumidifier capable of pulling moisture from humid indoor air, and a 2-speed fan for daily air circulation. The intuitive top-mounted digital touch panel and included full-function remote control allow you to adjust temperature settings, switch between operational modes, and set the 24-hour programmable timer from anywhere in the room. To ensure quiet, uninterrupted rest, the unit features a dedicated Sleep Mode that gradually adjusts temperature settings while operating at low noise levels (under 52 dB), allowing you to sleep peacefully throughout the night. Smooth-rolling 360-degree caster wheels and built-in side handles make it effortless to move the unit from room to room wherever cooling is needed most. Setting up the unit is quick and hassle-free: position the air conditioner near a suitable window, assemble the included exhaust hose and adjustable window slide kit, and securely vent the exhaust air outdoors. Plug into a standard 115V wall outlet, select your preferred temperature setting, and enjoy rapid cooling. Washable and reusable air filters protect internal components from dust and dander, requiring simple periodic rinsing under a faucet to maintain peak airflow and efficiency. Combining powerful cooling performance, quiet operation, and flexible multi-mode functionality, the Antarctic Star Portable Air Conditioner is an ideal solution for reliable indoor climate control. ... show more

  • Great for Smaller Spaces
We just moved into a new house with no cooling, and living in the desert, we needed something quick for our upstairs area. The Antarctic Star A/C unit was exactly what we were looking for. We live in an A-Frame, so the upstairs area only consists of two bedrooms and a small hallway linking them. This unit is small enough and light enough that we are able to easily move it from room to room depending on our needs, and it's quick to set up in the windows (which open horizontally) in only a few minutes. We have a larger unit for downstairs, and I will say that that one definitely drops the temperature more, but I think it's also a higher rating. The Antarctic Star does an excellent job at dropping the temp in the two small bedrooms, especially if the door is closed. It will be great for guests when they stay with us, as the controls are also very simple and easy to understand. It's no louder than any other portable A/C we've tried, and it's easy to drain it. I don't really have a need for the dehumidifier part since we don't have that issue here, but everything else works as is claimed. Overall we're happy with it! ... show more

  • Portable AC with basic controls and easy setup, but consider the 6,000 BTU SACC rating
Setup was straightforward. I misplaced the instructions before installing the exhaust hose and window insert, but the connections were intuitive enough that I was still able to get everything assembled and running without trouble. The window kit includes several adjustable panel sections, and the hose adapters twist into place. The unit has a clean, compact appearance. It is heavy at 53.4 pounds, but the wheels make it easy to move across a level floor. The controls are basic and familiar. I have another portable air conditioner that is at least 15 years old, and this has a similar feature set. You can select cooling, fan, or dehumidifier mode, choose between high and low fan speeds, adjust the temperature, and set the timer by the hour. The lowest cooling setting is 61 degrees. A remote is included, but there are not many advanced settings or customization options. The front outlet fins must be opened manually, and the airflow direction is also adjusted by hand. The internal directional fins are thin and positioned off center. When facing the unit, adjusting them toward the left produces a fairly steep angle, allowing the airflow to be felt while standing beside the unit. Adjusting them toward the right is much less effective because there is less open space on that side. It still pushes cold air forward, but the directional range is noticeably uneven. I purchased this for one finished half of my detached garage. The full garage is roughly 600 square feet, but a complete dividing wall and closed pocket door reduce the area being cooled to roughly 300 square feet. I tested it several times, including on a cooler summer day when the outdoor high was near 80 degrees. The unit produced cold air, but the garage temperature never fell below 80. The rating information helps explain the result. The label lists 10,000 BTU ASHRAE and 6,000 BTU SACC. The larger ASHRAE number reflects gross cooling under controlled test conditions, while the lower SACC rating is more useful for estimating real portable air conditioner performance after losses from the exhaust hose and replacement air entering the room. In my experience, the 6,000 BTU SACC rating is the more realistic number to use when considering room size. A garage is also harder to cool than a typical room because of the large exterior door, air leakage, and heat retained by the surrounding structure. I think this unit is better suited to a smaller enclosed bedroom or office than a roughly 300-square-foot garage stall. It is easy to install, produces cold air, and provides the expected basic operating modes, but it was not powerful enough to establish a lower target temperature in my intended space. ... show more
