I installed the fireplace unit in a former bookcase portion of a tv stand. I needed to create a pair of vertical wood brackets to mount at the rear of the unit because it wasn’t the same depth as the original bookcase. Otherwise, it fit perfectly (height and width) into the former bookcase opening and then I put wood trim around the outside. It’s nice to have the various display options in the firebox and the ability to turn on the heater or not. Can have the ambiance with or without the heat. ... show more

    • It's not realistic at all. But as a completely unrealistic electric fireplace, it's pretty good.

I narrowed my choice of recessed (in-wall) electric fireplaces down to three options and chose this one as it had the highest percentage of claims of being "realistic". All three were highly reviewed; though this one had fewer reviews it still had several hundred. However, the issues with the lack of realism voiced in the reviews of the other two also apply here. You can even follow the same instructions to get the best possible realism (not much) - turn the base light down to its dimmest setting and use red, then use a high (4/5) flame rate, with red-yellow or tricolor flames. So... just go ahead and buy the R.W. Flame (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VCTGV3Y/?coliid=I1UOCOUNWZA272&colid=7MQ90DF8TT05&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) rather than this one, though it may well be made in exactly the same factory. I'm going to try using transparent black spray paint on the glass "decorative stuff" to see if it makes it look better. However, as a completely unrealistic electric fireplace, it's pretty good. It looks nice and puts out a good about of heat with a moderately quiet fan. It's certainly more decorative and permanent than a Vornado, if slightly less efficient at heating a room in a Vermont winter. ... show more

The fireplace looks beautiful. It puts out great heat, and the customer service is as amazing. We lost the remote control over the summer and contacted the seller to pay for a replacement, but they just sent us one without any questions being asked. What a great company!

I've had this unit for about six months. I have the 60" unit and built a custom tv cabinet for my basement home theater room. A couple thoughts, it's a nice unit, installs fairly easy and the heater is a nice bonus, it warms thinks up, but is definitely not a big room temp changer. The flame effects are ok, like a few have stated, they don't really look like the pics, but they are acceptable. I knew going in that it was an electric fireplace so not that big of a deal and didn't want a distraction while watching TV. The biggest issue I've had is the remote. It seems like it only works occasionally and you have to point it right at the sensor for it to work. I've reached out via email to the company two months ago and yet to hear back so something to think about on warranty items. If remote gets figured out, I would recommend it as it's a good unit for the price point. ... show more
