  • Good Product So Far
Style: 12,000 BTU Upgraded
Got this for my tenant. She says it cools her apartment right down, even though it is just undersized for the volume it is cooling. Quiet too. Installed easily. My only complaint was that it got beat up in transit, box was damaged, and the casing that goes outside took a pretty good hit, so it has a few bends in the metal. Because of this, I almost lowered to 4 stars, but it really is shipper that gets the poor grade here, not the manufacturer. I still don’t know what this is going to do to my electric bill, but it claims to be very efficient. Time will tell. ... show more

  • Great AC unit and cools everything. Good deal. May not be good for light sleepers.
Style: 12,000 BTU Upgraded
This a great cooling unit and it also looks very nice. It chills the room quickly and the quiet fan is quiet. I think it might be the compressor that makes noise when it hums and vibrates and that is only sound it makes and it can be kind of loud for light sleepers. The remote makes it easy to control from a distance, but the info like temperature or mode might be out of sync when you change settings with the AC buttons instead. The remote display info refreshes after changing anything with the remote. The vent is adjustable. The foam boards and weather strips come included. It works for me and I love it. Had it for a month so far. I thought it was a pretty good deal. I have no information about efficiency, I just wanted an AC unit that didn't cover up all the window and the U shape is good for isolating the condenser outside so it releases the heat more fully outside. I would have preferred that the remote display have a backlight when it is used at night. ... show more

  • Blows warm air
Style: 12,000 BTU
The media could not be loaded. So if you want an air conditioner that blows warm air this is the one for you. Or you've got $400 to spend for a fan. But if your looking for an air conditioner that cools the air stay away. Unit made a huge clunking noise when powered up. No matter what temp you select it does not get lower than 72 degrees coming out. Every few minutes you can hear the motor labor and the temp shoots up into the 80's. See the attached video. Cool, Auto, Energy Saver mode does the same thing. Unit is level, tried powering off for a day to reset it no dice. I will say the packaging was nice, instructions good. Setup easy compared to my old window unit, if only it worked. ... show more

  • Fairly happy we got it.
Style: 12,000 BTU Upgraded
So far so good. Delivery condition, installation, and current function. We had a standalone and it just couldn't keep up with the temperature shifts. It ended up malfunctioning due to the humitidy in the room. I was fearful this window one would be something like I've seen my parents where they had to put some make shift feet to get it to sit right. Or be noisy. It fit our apartment window and has some rubber feet that assist with it's stability on the outside. Usually have it on low or medium, and it has kept our room comfortably cold. It's usually very swampy warm, so it's a relief after almost 2 years. It's only done a motor gear noise once right after we installed it, and I set it to a lower setting without any issues since. I think it needed a minute to adjust to how much work it needed to do at first. ... show more

  • Great design...hoping dents does NOT affect performance.
Style: 12,000 BTU
This arrived in a decent looking box, but there was some denting of the unit. Had to be done before shipping in box. So far it seems to work ok...watching for issues. A little disappointed and hoping it will be fine. The design is perfect for our needs...so easy to install.

  • Needed this years ago!
Style: 12,000 BTU
Why didn’t they think of this sooner. We live in an old farm house and put in an 18000 BTU window unit 10 years ago. It worked great but blocked the whole window. Saw this unit and gave it a try! Love it. It’s quiet and cools kitchen and living area great. Set on 73-74 during 98 degree weather. You do need to drain the inside part of the unit especially in high humidity. It has a little plug on the left side to make that easy. ... show more

  • Not up to my expectations
Style: 10,000 BTU
I bought this to replace an older air conditioner that was not cooling nearly as well as it should. It was a smaller unit (8000 BTU) but when it was new, it held up and kept the room cold during the hot summer months. After 5 years, it just wasn't pulling it's weight any longer, so I started looking at new units. This was my second choice for units, the first one (not this make or model) arrived damaged and I returned it. After looking at some reviews, I thought the design of this one was pretty neat and being 10000 BTU, seemed like it would be even better than the one it was replacing. The product came quickly and was packed well. Opening the box, there was nothing out of place, packaging was intact as expected. I cut the packing ribbons before I read the notice, so if you get this, pull the AC unit out of the box before you cut those. I didn't think the unit was that heavy and managed on my own, but it would have been easier with the straps still intact. The unit has a cool design, and sits over the window sill and lower wall area under the window. It was installed very easily with no tools, just had to back the brace supports all the way into the rear of the unit so it would fit over the window sill. Once it was in place, got it levelled up, and then adjusted the support feet on the outside in a couple minutes until it was snug against the outside wall. Plug it in and you're ready to go. I turned it on and set it to 68 degrees and cool air was blowing out. The biggest thing I noted was that it's SUPER quiet. Almost doesn't feel like it's running except for the air flow coming out. I was excited to get a really warm day to test it out. This past weekend, we had 80 degrees, and our upstairs bedroom faces the sun, so we had our chance. I left it set at 68 and let it run all night. Still surprised at how quiet it is. I'm used to the old units that sound like a small jet engine starting up when the compressor kicks in. This one had a low, barely audible hum. So definitely gets good ratings on quietness. Where I felt if fell short: The room is roughly 300 square feet (22 x 14) so this unit should be more than adequate to cool that room off quickly. It did not. In fact, leaving it on all night still didn't cool the room off as much as I like. I want to wake up close to shivering in the morning and this barely kept the room 'cool'. On the next day (pretty much the same weather as previous) I set it to 64. Setting it that low definitely helped, but it still did not reach the cold level I wanted in the room. Maybe I'm expecting it to frost my beard because that's what I'm used to, and perhaps that's too much to ask, but I hoped this would cool the room more and faster. Another thing I don't like about this is the lighting level on the front panel. It's not dimmable, so it is full brightness the whole time. I like pitch black when I sleep, and this definitely intruded, much like a car having it's high beams directed into your window at night. I covered up the blue temperature LED lights with electrical tape, and that helped, but last night I noted that even the selector lights were super bright. If I had to compare those to something it would be like a night light in the room. Personally, I have to cover up the little red light on the TV to sleep, so this was definitely not great for me. I haven't used the other functions yet, so maybe those will sway my opinion. But I think the biggest issue is that for 10000 BTU, it didn't seem to cool fast or make the room cold enough for my liking. I would have sent it back, but I can only lug so many air conditioners to the UPS store before I get tired of that. For now, I'll hold onto it and see how it does when the weather gets really hot in July/Aug. It's a nice unit, the design is great, and it's quiet, but I don't feel like it's as powerful as I want. Feels more like a 5000 BTU unit. *I should note that I have a house built in 1890, and we have a variety of units in all the rooms, something like 8-9 units in the house. This one seems to fall in the middle of the pack for me. So, 2 stars out of 5 on this for lack of coldness (2.5 stars) and for the crazy beacon lights on the panel (0.5 stars). ... show more
