Make sure you measure where it’s going. We did an upstairs apartment with a slopped roof and it would not fit in the window we wanted it to. Moved to another window and it did fit well. These are powerful and quiet air conditioners. The U-Shaped design is definitely the way to go for window units. Easy to install. We bought 2 of them. One arrived slightly damaged in one corner and then started making some annoying noises within week of operation. However, I reached out customer support and they were very helpful. Judy, with customer support, determined that the fan must have been damaged from shipping (which is what I was thinking, too), so they are sending a replacement. I would buy again and highly recommend these Window AC units, not only because they are great, but because of the proven customer support if something is wrong. ... show more

Followed all installation instructions including allowing unit to sit upright 24 hours after anrriving and using the proper settings. Fan worked and I can hear the compressor run but the air blowing from the unit would never get cold (or even somewhat cool for that matter). Very disappointed to have to return this unit as it is a lot of work just to get it back out of the window and repackaged. I recommend against this purchase. First, they will tell you to make sure it's level in both directions. They're not kidding. But use a reliable 2' or 4' level, not the little vial they provide. The unit is well designed, the constituent parts are adequate to robust in quality. It cools the space very well, and it could be a quiet unit if you're lucky. Mine isn't. The problem seems to be with transporting it; I think they drop kick them into the delivery truck. Mine came pre-dented and the fan was noisy. I took the front off of it and discovered it was a pretty decent squirrel-cage evidently cast from pot-metal, but It had a broken fin. If I could get a replacement part I might go to the trouble of switching it out.. In the mean time, releveling the unit has helped. There are probably a few good units out there, and were you to get one, I think you'd find them to be what the seller claims they are. How lucky do you feel? ... show more

Installation was genuinely simple — I had it mounted in under 15 minutes, and from cutting open the box to being completely done and running, it took me less than 30 minutes total. No struggle, no calling for help. Once it's running, it's impressively quiet. The U-shaped design really does cut down the noise compared to a standard window unit, so I'm not fighting to hear the TV or hold a conversation. And it has no trouble cooling a large room — it gets the space comfortable fast and keeps it there. If you're on the fence, this one's an easy recommendation.
