Top Amazon Reviews

  • Perfect for conference calls
Color: Black
When I first read the reviews on this product, I was a bit skeptical since so many of the reviews were so positive. Now I understand why. After using this for two days, I am absolutely in love with it. I am using it with a 2020 MacBook Air for zoom calls, an iPhone XI, and tried it on a Mac mini as well. The mic performance is excellent - I have tested it in a number of rooms, one with a 16' ceiling, and at various distances. The mic quality degrades slightly at distances beyond 6 feet, but that is a minor point. As long as I am in the vicinity of the device, the clarity is excellent and folks can't tell the difference. The output is very nicely tuned for the human voice, making it much easier to hear the call when different people are speaking or there are heavy accents. The ease of use is excellent - it connects faster than other bluetooth devices I use - and the construction is nice. A good weight to it, silicone pad so it won't slip, the enclose is nice to hold, and the buttons function fine. For the price point, this is really impressive. By way of comparison to the MBAir, the mic pickup on the Anker is far superior. I find that the MBA has trouble when I'm not centered within two feet of the device or there is background noise. The Anker really "releases" me from having to be exactly in front of the MBA at all times. Also, while the MBA audio is far superior, it is not as good as the Anker for human voices. Voices on the Anker are much easier to hear and follow - I can sense it takes less concentration on my part (and my brain!). I've used a vast range of bluetooth devices for various audio applications, and as a conference device this is by far the best I have tried (Bose, Jabra,, and a host of music listening devices). Even compared to a VoIP Polycom Soundstation (the gold standard in my world), this is a worthy competitor. The key differences for the Anker are the mic quality, battery life, and the way the audio is tuned to human voices. Now let's see how it holds up over time ;-). ... show more

  • I've been waiting for a product like this!
Color: Black
Just received our Anker PowerConf the other day and used it for the first time this morning. We travel 100% of the time for business and have multiple teleconferences every week sometimes in an office setting, but sometimes in a hotel, a school, or the "mobile office" (our car). I have long wanted a portable teleconference speakerphone, but have never been able to find a product like this one before. The speaker feels solid and well made; just a little bit heavy in a reassuring way (light enough to tote around, but feels like it's not going to break while traveling). Still has a slight factory/chemical smell, but I only unboxed it this morning. The case is nice and sturdy, but I do not think it will accommodate the speaker and the charging cord; that's ok since I keep all of my chargers and tech attachments in a separate bag that travels with me. Based on two calls this morning: it charged quickly (USB C), it was easy to set up without even looking at the instructions, it gave us clear call quality (we connected to my cellphone over bluetooth), the volume adjusted quickly and got nice and loud, and was easy to see when we were muted or not muted. I have not yet tried to connect to a computer with our teleconference software (zoom) or with a cord, nor have I tried to charge a device from the speaker. I did stream a podcast to the speaker for a couple of minutes, and it sounded pretty good. Honestly I was so excited about having a teleconference speaker, it didn't occur to me that this would also just be a great bluetooth speaker for podcasts or music, but it's pretty nice to have that option in the same device. I've never written an Amazon review before, but I'm just so excited this speaker exists. I can't count how many times I've been traveling and joined a teleconference only to find myself straining to hear or needing to pass the phone around to each person speaking. I've been wishing for a product like this for so long, and for me the price ($129) is well worth it. It's super nerdy, but I can't wait for our next teleconference to bust out this little speaker again! ... show more

  • Works great!!
Color: Black
I’m part of a bookclub but I’m not in the same state as all the other members so have to do it via zoom. I’ve had trouble hearing about half the time so finally bought this and the first time we used it was great!! I could hear everyone so much better. This was a great purchase.

  • Good sound quality, poor controls
Color: Black
I have had this speakerphone for over two years now. It is a solid workhorse. I am on calls all day and the battery lasts for at least three days. The sound quality is good and noise cancellation works well. The only annoying part of this speaker is that it's buttons are soft but you have to push them hard. It should be other way round (hard buttons that need to be pressed gently). To power it on, you have push the soft button hard and hold it for 3 seconds or so - it's quite annoying. The other limitation is that the volume control is not very granular from the speaker - it just goes to silent if you try to reduce the volume. The lowest volume is quite loud. Oh well, you get what you pay for. Other than the above two annoying "features", this is a very good speakerphone for someone on budget. ... show more
