EDIT: while still giving five stars, I've never had to use the locate handset button on the base, but decided to try it today. It only worked IF the handset was in the base! If it was out of the base, nothing. Now this isn't a big deal to me, and maybe it's just a fluke on mine, but for those who might need or want this, check that feature as soon as you get the phone. _______________________________________ My old Vtech that I have had for four years and also got on Amazon was still working, but they recommend changing the battery pack every one to two years if you use a lot. Well, I do use my phone a lot as I am at home most of the time. It didn't cost much more to get a new phone over the battery pack. So was still going after four years and I have paid 20 and change for my old one, this one, with tax (high tax in my state), was 23 and change. It took about 12 hours to fully charge before first use, which is expected. Maybe a little less or more, but it does take awhile. Love the sleek look! Has all the features I need and was surprised it even had aaa batteries in case power went out! We get a lot of thunderstorms here in the Midwest and power going out not uncommon. It even has a button on the side of the base to locate handset. Bottomline: Would get again and when I want or need another phone, it will again be Vtech.

Reliable Multi-Handset System with Clear Calls and Easy Setup This VTech CS6529-4 cordless phone set has been a very practical addition to our home. The four handsets give us coverage in multiple rooms, so no one is running to answer calls anymore. Setup was straightforward—just plug in the base and charging docks, and the phones were ready to go. The call clarity has been excellent, with no static or dropped calls so far. The DECT 6.0 technology really does help keep the line crisp, even with Wi-Fi and other electronics in the house. The answering system is simple but effective, and the caller ID/call waiting features work just as expected. I also like the backlit screens and keypads, which make it easy to use in the evening without straining. One thing to note: these handsets are lightweight, which is nice for handling, but they don’t feel as solid as some higher-end models. The menus take a little practice to navigate, but once you’re used to them, they’re intuitive enough. I love VTech phones. They're reliable, work well and easy to use. Bought this after my old one just died after years and years and years of use. I think I may have dropped it once too often. I also had a Panasonic system at one time but it didn't last nearly as long as the VTech. So now that I needed a new one, it's back to VTech for me. It's a little more difficult to find the address book as my old one had a direct link without having to go through the menu. Though you can get to the book easily enough by pressing the up button and hitting the key for the corresponding alphabet. The speed dial, handset speaker and intercom all work well. The only thing missing is a headset jack on the handset. My old one had it as sometimes you just want a hands free private conversation. I should have checked that before I bought but I guess I can suffer without it. :)

Ordered these when I got hired for a work from home job that would have several weeks of remote training and then significant time taking calls. Most of the people who work for this company and are in this role or similar use their cell phones to connect to the company call center. I did not want to do that with my cell phone so I looked for a fairly inexpensive but 2 handset cordless phone. This phone had good reviews and the price was right. I am in my 4th week of training. I am very thankful that there are 2 handsets because while the battery life is very good, it’s not going to last an 8 hour day being constantly on. So about 4-5 hours in I have to swap out the phones. But considering the phones are on speaker for the entirety of the day, it’s pretty good battery performance. The sound quality is also very good. I am having to use my cell phone for incoming call training (since the company set it up this way) but once that is complete I plan to switch over to the phone line these phones are attached to. I have been told that I come in very clear and with good volume while on speaker, which is a relief because otherwise I would have to buy another phone that was headset compatible. Speaker & mute work very well and the ringer volume control is also a nice feature. I haven’t used all the features because I don’t need to. It’s a good phone if you want a simple use phone with a few extra bells & whistles. Suits my needs and I would recommend.
