After purchasing a new laptop a few months ago, I knew that I would have to purchase a USB hub, as my laptop only came with 3 ports, and I needed more than just that. The result of this led me to look online, where I stumbled across this product (Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub, Ultra Slim Data USB Hub with 2ft Extended Cable) as it was Amazon’s choice in USB Hub’s. After receiving the product, and using it for a few weeks, I decided to purchase another! I am excited to discuss why I like this product, and why I think that you, too, will have a great experience with ANKER (regarding this product). As usual TLDR at bottom. PRO’s -This USB hub is extremely modern and slim, which I really like the look of! About the same thickness of my laptop (maybe around 1cm or so). It is also very light, which makes it easy to throw in my bag when I need to take it on the go. -I can run my webcam, microphone, mouse, and keyboard all on the same hub! This allows for me to utilize four separate products in a hub that only takes up one port in total! This really helps since the amount of USB based products that I used greatly outnumbers the amount on my computer, and I wouldn’t be able to use products I need without this hub! Do keep in mind there is a limit for the number of devices you can place on this hub, (check on listing description for more information), but I have had no problems connecting and running what I need to on this hub). -USB Hub comes with a warranty card and instructions which are both appreciated. Also goes into detail about customer service and support, set up details, and other information regarding this product. -USB Hub is available in black (not sure if there are any other colors), but they really made a nice-looking product! Sure, there are some cheaper ones, but in my opinion, I much prefer the look and feel of this product, almost premium. Middle Ground (Product information that is not amazing but not awful) -Cable length is advertised as 2ft, which is correct. I do feel that YMMV depending on how far away your desktop PC is from where you need the USB hub to be. I use a laptop, so I never have any problems with cable length, but I don’t think if they added an extra foot or two to the length would really hurt the product. (Might be a good idea for a future model). -Product feels a tiny bit flimsy, nothing that I worry about, but be cautious of holding it too hard, as it is already thing with multiple hollowed out points for the USB slots. -There is a small LED light that indicates the USB Hub has power. It is not bright at all but sometimes that you may want to note if any light at all bothers you. Really hasn’t been a problem for me, and if it is for you, just get a piece of tape. CON’s -Fortunately, I haven’t had anything that would be a con for this product, it just is all around a great product, which is why I feel it deserves 5/5 stars. If you are looking for a USB hub, I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed! TLDR: Excellent USB Hub all Around. My old Anker hub kept giving me connected and disconnected messages constantly so I thought maybe it was time to upgrade to a newer hub. This regular USB 3.0 hub is lightweight, simply constructed, and just works. I got the 2-foot cable that gave me some extra room to position on my desk. The USB 3.0 speed is perfectly fine for my needs and I have four more extra ports to plug things in. However, the instruction booklet indicates there is a maximum combined current of 900 mA for all connected devices. For example, a mouse takes up 100 mA-ish, a camera is 300 mA, and an external hard drive is 900 mA itself. This means you can't connect four hard drives to this thing and have them all work at the same time. For me, this means I stick basic stuff like wireless mouse drivers or USB memory sticks (I connect my hard drives to the computer itself or to a separate powered hub). I have an Apple mini, which has few ports. This doesn't seem to change the quality or lag at all, or at least as far as my senses can detect. Seems to be quality materials too.

I built a new desk for my design studio and wanted to add some USB-3 ports to a convenient spot underneath the monitors (PC is built into the desk itself), which needed a cable longer than 1ft, but shorter than the more typical 3ft length that most USB ports like this have, so as to fit the cable management setup for the desk better. This slim version was the perfect fit, and the nice black finish matched all of the other exposed PC and peripheral elements of the desk area. The speeds are fantastic, and USB drives fit in nicely and feel secure once in, and are easy to remove without bothering the double-sided tape I used to install it with. And as I have found with pretty much every Anker product I have bought over the years, the design and build quality are top-notch. I will also note that the description you find for this hub online says that it doesn't support charging, but I think it depends on what you are charging. I can charge my headphones, all of my rechargeable styluses, etc., but obviously nothing that requires a charger of any kind. It will however slow charge my Andriod phone and iPad (plugging the USB in without the bricks), which has been ideal for just keeping them from running down while using them at my desk.
