Let's start with what I like: the shape is great. I'm a leg amputee, and getting in/out of a shower on one foot is dangerous. Grab bars help, and I like how this one makes it easy to transition from a horizontal to a vertical hand hold. I also appreciate that the corner is rounded, not a sharp corner in case you somehow fall and hit it. I like the texture on the bars, to make them less slippery. Now for the cons: relative to other grab bars I've used, this one falls in the middle in terms of how sturdy the bar itself feels. It isn't as heavy duty as another bar I have, but it's heavier duty than a couple others I've used, which is why I'm giving this four stars instead of five. As a side note, the hardware pack includes some plastic drywall anchor screws, which is pretty standard, but I always like to upgrade to steel drywall anchors because they're stronger and more secure, which is important with a grab bar. I didn't let this factor into the rating, because plastic drywall anchors are the norm, but it's worth mentioning if you haven't installed your bar yet. Would I order this again? Yes, because of the shape. The ninety degree angle isn't the most common shape for a grab bar, and I like that I was able to order it in black instead of nickel. It fits the space and my needs. So even though the bars aren't the strongest I've seen, it still is very workable for me (keeping in mind that I'm a fairly small person, so not as much weight on the bar). This grab bar is heavy duty... I like that it had grip texture on the bars. Made it easy to get up and down. Very easy to install and I like that it came in the color white since I have white walls. Really great bar for use after back surgery.

This is an impressive grab bar set, and everything you need is in the box. Except for wall studs. Sure, it comes with anchors for the screws, but if you're going to actually use these as grab bars, you're going to want them anchored into something stronger than drywall. Luckily, 16 inch spacing will work for most people in that department. Once anchored in, these are solid. The bars themselves are pretty lightweight, which is a bonus. This angered grab bar presents the opportunity to install it in so many different ways. It can also be installed on left or right side. This grab bar gives an individual many areas to grab on to. I hurt my back and I have had multiple back surgeries. Unfortunately, my sense of balance has suffered greatly. I happen to have a jacuzzi tub that is deep. OK, so I have another grab bar installed in my shower, nice solid and very happy with it. I purchased this one because my wife said she would like one in the bathtub. I looked at the information, said it meets ADA weight requirement of supporting 500 lbs. Not that we need that much but I felt good that it met ADA requirements. The write up also said it was 1.25 inches in diameter, it's not it's only 1 inch. The bar is just not the quality I was hoping for. The center post does not have a complete weld around it. Looks like it was only tacked in place. There is some flex in the tubing which should tighten up when installed. However, after looking at it I just don't feel good about it so I won't be installing it. I will look for a different bar that has a greater diameter and is more solid. Also to note the installation instructions are lacking. You have the plastic wall anchors which are oblong not round with no instructions on size of hole to drill.
