I just received and assembled this lamp for a living room side table. It is a good looking addition to the room. However, when I attached the shade one of the spokes was not attached. It had popped of the fabric. It sticks out above the shade. I tried to put it back in place, but it wouldn't stay. i am disappointed. Has anyone else had this problem? I really don't want to go through the hassle of repacking and returning it. I will attempt to fix it myself. Also, as others have mentioned, the "night light" is way too bright.     • Okay if you can tolerate a non-centered glass tube.

The seller did a great job of shipping the product. The issue that I had was that, when assembled, the center glass tube was very non-concentric within the body of the lamp. If it was just a smidge off, then I would have kept the lamps. However, the tube was so far out from center that it was very noticeable from a long way off. The tube was also chipped (but not broken) where it attached to the lamp. It would seem that someone else had run into the non-concentric tube and tried to bend things back into the center. I don't know that's the case, but that's the way it looks. Ultimately, I elected to return the lamps, which the seller easily accommodated. ... show more

    • Attractive Lamp With A Few Issues

Overall this is a well made lamp and looks nice. With that said, there were some issues that the manufacturer should address. First, the lamp socket that faces downward in the cage base was not straight so the glass shade and the bulb inside are noticeably crooked. I had to manually bend the socket (before attaching the glass shade / bulb) so the shade and bulb would hang straight - something the manufacturer should have done when assembling the base fixture. Secondly, as some other reviewers have noted, the glass shade that fits in the cage is long and narrow making it very difficult for an adult size hand to attach the shade to the lamp socket. The manufacturer should have included a tool to assist with this. Beyond these issues, I found the included 4 watt Edison style bulb used in the base shade to be too bright so I replaced it with another vintage style bulb that isn't so bright.     • Nice, but you better have tiny hands with long fingers to put it together!!!

I just received my lamp today. It is attractive and seems to work well so far. HOWEVER, in order to assemble the nite light portion, you have to reach through the bottom of the lamp and put your hand into the glass cylinder. You have to have your hand in the cylinder in order to screw on the ring that holds it in place. It is a narrow cylinder! Heaven help you if the ring threads on wrong! With barely any room you have to try to get it to move all while fearing the glass may break and cut you!! It took pliers with the tips wrapped in masking tape ( to avoid scratching the finish) to pull the ring back out and start again. After all this, you still have to reach up the cylinder to put in the bulb!!! VERY POOR DESIGN!!! ... show more

I love this lamp! It is sturdy and big, which is what I wanted. The amber bulb that came with it is too bright for me, so I replaced it with something darker. It's well worth the expense!
