  • Extraordinary build quality for the price!
I will upload a video example of how this ballhead function. I've bought many stuff from Andoer and they always seem to work well for a very long time, this is no exception. Before I got this, I own a cheap $30 tripod fluid head, however it's extremely lacking for the content I do. The pan motion on this ballhead quite amazing, it's really fluid and with a quarter, it locks to place. In fact most of the knobs only need a quarter of a turn to lock in place. The fluid motion makes it so easy for slider movements to get that parallax motion making little mistakes (retakes). This ballhead can take heavy loads, I lended my Canon 5D MKIV to a friend before taking these photos, though it really can support the weight of the Canon 5D MKIV with a 70-200mm 2.8 USM with ease. There are 2 locking knobs for the ball, however I actually like to keep the smaller one loose and let the bigger knob be in charge of the locking position. This is apparently Version 2 so it's most likely an upgrade to the first version as a response the older reviews, where some had troubles. I've took this out on a couple of shoots, so I will also show more examples of it when I am back home. Overall this is a great piece of equipment, it's small for bags, and a heck lot better than the fluid tripod head that squeaks when torqued down. ... show more

  • Rock solid. Great bang for your bucks.
Size: Tripod head Color: Yellow
Wow, just wow, very well built & rock solid steady. Big knobs on both sides to tighten easily. Put a 4lbs Pentax K-3 with battery pack, with a 120mm arc swiss plate(so I can get the lens over the center vertically) on a 200mm slide all the way out at a 45 degree angle and it didn't budge even with some downward pressure applied ( as you might accidentally do when adjusting the camera). Was $10 cheaper than one I returned that may have had a slightly smoother ball, but wouldn't hold the rig at all if not level and would drop if even slightly bumped. I'm sure the smoothness will come with a little use and would rather have a solid stay than smoother and worry about moving if touched.. Rotating was very smooth. ... show more

  • It is not perfect, but ok
The quality of the ball head is good but not perfect. I saw someone complaining about sloppy paint job and finishing touches. I would agree with this statement. My ball head has very tiny dents in few places. But it is visible only when you look very closely at it. The ball head holds my cellphone without a problem. It can hold my Canon Mark II with a 24-70mm lens. I am not sure I fully trust it will keep heavier cameras in place. It feels strong and durable. It is on the heavy side, but I guess it makes it more steady. It is easy to adjust. But the camera mount rail doesn't slide too smoothly. It locks in place with ease. If you overlook all the imperfections of this ball head, it is still a decent piece of equipment, especially for the price. Most likely in the future, I will get a more solid brand, but for now, it does the job. ... show more

  • Much better than a standard ball head
PRO: 1. Well made, has the feel of finely made material and well suited for many applications. 2. Provides three options of rotation, elevation, and 0-90 degree turn. 3. Holds my Canon 60D, with 70-300 lens with no problem. 4. Comes with two Quick Release Plates. 5. 180 Days of free return shipping. CON: 1. Little bulky in some areas. 2. The knobs make contact with in 90 degree mode at some point. 3. The paint looks to scratch off easy, but not bad for the price. OTHER: 1. I really like this, has held up well so far. 2. Rain test pending. 3. Visit website for more details. ... show more

  • Love this thing
Size: Tripod head Color: Yellow
I needed a sturdier ball head for my tripod and thought I'd give this a try. For the money it is excellent. It locks down solidly even when holding my 70-200. The only issue I had was that the rubber knurled wrap on the knobs is not glued on. Initially I thought the mount was slipping, but I wasn't actually tightening the knobs enough. I went ahead and removed the rubber and am very pleased with it now. It also has lockable indexing marked out in degrees on the horizontal axis. This should prove useful when shooting large panoramas to limit the amount of cropping needed to align each frame. All in all, it's a huge step up if you have a decent tripod with a wimpy head that you'd like to upgrade. ... show more
