Go for it, this HUB is a gem! There are a gazillion docks, dongles, and adapters out there thanks to Apple's infinite wisdom of eliminating vital ports from their Macbook Pros - A terrible idea for those of us who edit video, but that's another story! These contraptions are divided into those with one sole purpose (like Apple's, of course) and those with multiple ports. There are those fit snugly onto the side of the Macbook Pro BUT they don't fit the armored cases I protect my machines with. So I had to find one with a built in cable so I could work around my protective case. It had to have an SD card reader, HDMI port (for presentations), power through, and the usual collection of USB A ports. ANDOBIL HUB fits the bill. It has a solid metal body which feels rugged and helps dissipate the heat. The built-in USB C cable that goes to the computer is thick with a solid connector. The HUB is surprisingly compact and required no drivers, setup or anything. It just worked, first as a pass thru for Macbook Power (see the white cable in my photos), and as my path to my HDMI external monitor. For this review I did a quick test of the SD card slot. First card I popped in appeared on my desktop immediately. The second card I tried suffered a slight hiccup and then appeared but I can't attribute that to the HUB. The photos I'm including came from that second card, so, obviously, it works. I cannot vouch for video export speed but maybe I will update this review when I do. For now it appears to work like a gem, and it solved my concerns when I took the plunge from my beloved 15" Macbook Pro 2015 that had all the ports I needed. That machine works perfectly but I traded it in because I needed more speed for the ever more complex video effects and 4K footage I now work with. So, to sum up this rant, GO FOR IT, it works perfectly so far, and I must add, customer service contacted me as soon as I registered the product offering their support for any reason... I spent 2 days on Amazon browsing for best USB C adapter for my mac, and ended up ordering Andobil 9-in-1. This is a great product well suited to my needs. I wanted a usb-c hub that has sufficient number of USB ports, an ethernet port for wired internet, and an HDMI port to extend my screen for work purposes. I got all these, plus the SD/micro SD card reader and a USB 3 fast charging port as well. I tested all ports and each of these worked well. The expensive usb c docking stations always need to be powered on and they keep charging the macbook even if it is not required, so I prefer to go with dongles like these which can function even without external power and provide facility of Power Delivery pass thru charging when mac is running low on juice. As shown in the pic, I found the wattage during PD pass thru to be 78W which is pretty impressive owing to Apple’s own charging wattage (87W). This wattage is def way higher than most of the USB C dongles out there in the market. I liked the build quality of the dongle made out of Aluminium and also the compact size which gives great portability. Last but not the least, it only gets little warm on using many ports at same time, which is normal for any electronic device with high amount of loads. I would just suggest them to add a mic/speaker dual audio port and provide feet in the base to avoid scratches when kept on table. But keeping aside these minor enhancements, this a great product and I am very satisfied. ... show more

Simply put, this is a fantastic USB-C hub. It has everything you could need, including fast charging, HDMI, gigabit ethernet, USB-A 3.0 ports, power delivery, SD card, etc. The packaging is simple and recyclable. +1 for companies that are finally doing this and getting rid of all the extra plastic that goes into most products. NO drivers were required on either a PC or my Macbook Pro (2017). The quality of the hub is great. It feels solid, but not too heavy. The attached cable is thick and well supported at the function of the USB-C end. I don't expect that there should be any stress failures here at all. The colour matches the space gray of the Macbook Pro very well. After about an hour of stress testing it (transfer over LAN to two attached HDDs and one flash drive while displaying over HDMI - the unit does get warm, but not hot to the point that you need to be concerned about it. I tested the unit with a few HDD's and HDMI and there were no problems running it without power from another source (just from my Macbook pro). Anymore than this and I would expect you may run into some problems. This is of course not a problem for me as it will remain as a HUB hooked up to a monitor, USB speakers, hard drives, and ethernet, so all I need to do is plug in ONE cable to my computer and everything works. Compared to a few of the other hubs that I use for travelling and work, this is by far the best one - it has everything and seems to be made well. Overall, I have nothing to complain about this - everything works well, as described, and is made well.
