  • Ancheer e-bike Functions mostly as claimed (blue Hummer)
Color: Sky Blue
I received the bike Saturday, earlier than posted. I assembled it successfully. A few items I’m trying to rectify are, 1. The front disc brake is slightly bent and rubs on the pads when rotating, 2. The front derailleur can’t quite be adjusted with the high limit switch to stop the chain from rubbing in highest gearing (fastest), 3. Two small guiding ears on the batteries were broken off and lying in the box. I’m fairly conversant with bikes (I own a specialized carbon bike, an old Trek MTB 830, a newer Trek X-Caliber 9 MTB, a Diamondback hybrid, and a vintage Fila from the ‘80s.). I rode 26miles this morning to familiarize myself to the e-bike journey, the battery still shows five bars. All electronics functioned well. All PAS levels worked well and the cruise control on “throttle only” maintained a constant speed. Unfortunately I didn’t have any steep hills to climb here in the low country of SC. I was able to ride in my zone 2 fairly easily using the PAS. I bought this bike so I could keep up with the youngsters (in their 60’s, I’m 79yo), I ride with in BiG Bend State Park and the desert areas of West Texas. So far I’m really pleased with this bike (least expensive bike I’ve ever bought). Ill probably switch out the seat and put better tires on, but stock is good for now. The bikecomputer and my cycling computer matched up well. So I give it two ole geezer thumbs up! Update 2/23/2025 - just spent a month and one half riding in West Texas desert areas. I have over 500 miles ridden, battery is still strong. I bent the front disc enough to stop the rubbing. I have gone up steep grades and the torque was great. I rode through deep sand, rough gravel paths, through cactus, and crashed several times. I put Maxxi 2.5” tires on front and back (the original tires didn’t last one desert ride!). The front shock was not too responsive, so I think I’ll look fora replacement. Overall I’m very pleased with this bike. I feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of it. ... show more

  • Lovely bike at very reasonable price
Color: Sky Blue
This is my second electric bike from this brand. I had purchased the previous model of this exact bike 4 or 5 years ago. The bike survived a lot of abuse from my son. My kid dropped it multiple times, and crashed it at least once. I also had to replace breaks and tires several times. And finally, after several years something had happened with electronics, and I decided it is a time to get a new bike. So, the new one arrived quickly. I've ordered exactly same size and same battery. The new bike was $200 cheaper than the older model. The new model definitely has better quality. The bike has a lot to like, and very few issues. Things I like: 1) the quality is very good! 2) It was packaged very well to make sure nothing breaks during shipment. 3) It is easy to assemble 4) It is easy to use and everything works very well 5) The price is reasonable Things I do not like: 1) The sit is too narrow and not comfortable. I would highly suggest to replace the sit. 2) No mud guards come with the bike. You need to buy the set separately. 3) The battery is very, very expensive if you ever need to replace one. It costs about half of the price of this bike. 4) Bike is very heavy. Conceptually speaking I would love to see hydraulic breaks on the future models. 5) You may need to watch breaks closely, and adjust as needed. I highly suggest to check breaks and tires pressure before each ride. 6) Tires replacement may be expensive since this size is not very common. All in all I think this is very good bike, and I can recommend it without any hesitation. Update as of May 2025: I have ended up purchasing 2 more the same bikes, one for myself, and another one for my wife. And now I have 3 bikes in total. The bikes are simply great! Love them! And I have also purchased Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Hitch to take all 3 bikes on the trips. Note, you have to watch the wait. 3 bikes without batteries should be fine, but 4 bikes will be too heavy for this rack. ... show more

  • Great Starter Ebike and well worth the money, but with some issues.
I ordered this bike for general use in an around the small city I live in. I don't have a car and using the bus took up a lot of time. I've used it to get to work and back, for shopping, appointments and just in general day to day use. Starting in mid September and straight through the winter it worked fantastically, even in the cold. I wouldn't use it on days where it was snowing, but once the streets were clear it worked perfectly well. I would simply take the battery in with me rather than letting it get cold. I upgraded the seat to something more comfortable the first week, and upgraded it over time with things like fenders and a rearview mirror. Some nice insulated neoprene gloves combined with goggles and a ski mask made riding in the cold perfectly fine. In the spring I had it serviced at a local shop who put on new brake pads, breaklines and trued the alignment. After getting it back I ran into my first real problem roughly a week later, mid ride I lost all power and smelled burning plastic. The battery had burned out. Annoyed but deciding to use this as an opportunity to upgrade my battery. I made sure to order something compatible with the same amount of pins. A lot of relatively cheap bike companies have similar but slightly different components. The mounting tabs on the battery did not match those on the bike, being just slightly different. However, i found a simple work around of simply swapping the external components of the old mount out for the new one while keeping the actual internal components. It was as simple as unscrewing them and switching the parts. More recently, the wear on the rear tire has made it almost totally bald, warranting a replacement tire. Swapping the rear tire out was difficult, but doable with some help. however a week later the original inner tube seem to have developed a slow leak, so needed to be replaced. Knowing what to do now, the second removal and remounting of the rear tire went much more smoothly. Now, mid august I am having problems with the controller display. The bike still works fine, but the display doesn't show proper numbers. It was honestly rather hard to see in the daytime anyway. I've checked their site and their store on amazon, and while they do sell a lot of parts, replacement controller displays don't seem to be one of them, though there does seem able to be swapped out for a working one. If anyone at the company would like to sell me a display it would be more than willing to buy a new one. In short: This is a cheap, but good quality Starter Ebike. It will get you around, its simple to maintain and simple to upgrade. It can be taken on standard bus bike racks and replacement parts and tires are generally easy to find, and cheap. I'm just about to reach 900miles on it and it was worth every penny. Its massively opened up my city to me, both in terms of mobility and opening up new places to work at. I use it almost every day for something and I would happily buy another in the future, even if it stopped worked tomorrow. ... show more

  • Expectations EXCEEDED, and a great value for the money
UPDATE - 500 MILES AND COUNTING: I am still very happy with this purchase, and in fact have purchased a second one just a month later. This bike rides smooth, fast, and handles well. I have taken it off-road through mud, dirt and grass and it has handled everything I have thrown at is so far. I normally ride with Pedal Assist mode in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd speed... occasionally 4 or 5 for fun. I don't use the throttle much but it's a great option if you need a burst of speed. My 6'3" son-in-law rode it and it fit him fine, so it really does range from 5'2" to at least 6'3". Don't hesitate on this bike, probably the best option under $1k on Amazon. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I settled on this bike after several months of research. I was looking for an eBike under $1k and wanted to get the best bike for the money. While there were several close competitors in this class of eBike, I chose the Ancheer Blue Spark for the following reasons: 1. Great value 2. Mountain/Hybrid type - it looks like a classic mountain bike 3. Pedal Assist AND Throttle options 4. Excellent speed - up to 20mph 5. Excellent range - up to 25 miles throttle only, up to 60 miles with pedal assist 6. Great manual (24-speed) and electronic (5-speed) options 7. Moderate standover height - small enough for my 5'2" wife 8. Top 2 in class by most online reviews 9. Excellent Amazon reviews overall Some concerns: 1. No cargo rack, standard or optional (no problem, I added a 3rd party backrack) 2. Several negative reviews on manufacturer support/response for customer questions and problems 3. Some reviews complained about assembly challenges and lack of display instructions Assembly – Took just over an hour. Straightforward and simple. The bike comes 85% assembled. All you have to do is attach the handlebars to the stem, rotate the fork 180 degrees (it’s shipped backwards for space reasons), install the front wheel in the dropouts, install the pedals, install the seatpost, connect the electronics, connect the battery (charge it fully first), and make adjustments to the front/rear derailleurs. Overall this went pretty smoothly. It could be much easier if the manual was better organized. Some issues with that: 1. Not well written or always clear about process 2. Poor illustrations 3. No indication you must LONG PRESS power button on the Controller to power on 4. No instructions to remove derailleur guard, which is used for shipping purposes only Display – For a bike in the under $1k class the display is fantastic. Sleek, nice backlight with bright/dim option, notates battery power, current speed, average speed, gear level, kilowatts, mileage. Very nice. Display Settings - There are NO instructions provided to change the display settings. This is important if you want to change from the default kilometers per hour to miles per hour. I was able to find the instructions by searching on the internet and am providing them here: Adjust Settings - Long press the plus and minus buttons on the Controller buttons for 2 seconds 1. The first setting is "Trip Clear" which is defaulted to TC-n (Trip Clear - no). In order to reset your trip mileage back to 0 press the plus or minus button to change the default to TC-y (Trip Clear - yes) **Press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to go to the second setting (or long press to save and exit) 2. The second setting is "Backlight" which is defaulted to BL-2 (Backlight setting 2 - medium). In order to change to dimmer or brighter press the plus or minus button to change the default to BL-1 or BL-3 **Press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to go to the third setting (or long press to save and exit) 3. The third setting is "Units which is defaulted to U-2 (km/h). In order to change to Miles per Hour press the plus or minus button to change the default to U-1 (MPH) **Long press the Info ("I") button on the Controller to save and exit NOTE: If you are inactive in settings too long it will simply revert back to the main display Geometry – It’s perfect for me. I’m 5’8” and right in the sweet spot for this bike. It’s marketed as good between 5’1” and 6’4”. Handling – For my purposes, excellent. This is branded as a “mountain bike”, but I would say it is more of a mountain/hybrid mix. It isn't suited for rugged mountain bike terrain and you wouldn’t take this bike on any technical hills. That's fine with me. As long as you know and are ok with a "mountain bike light", this is a great bike: 1. Pedal assist and throttle-only are both very responsive 2. Gets up to 20 mph on the throttle quickly 3. Rides well on the flats and corners well, and you can lock the front shock for flat rides 4. Rides surprisingly well over minor bumps, curbs etc at high speeds 5. Battery life seems to be as advertised so far. I’ve been on rides up to 30 miles and have never used more than half capacity. Great bike, terrific value. ... show more

  • Bought two bikes. Both with issues and one unrideable. Poor support service.
Color: Sky Blue
The bike arrived dead on delivery. (Very Disappointing) The charger light shows green after plugging into the battery and then plugging into power. The battery only shows millivolts Dc and of course will not activate. I contacted tech support and tried calling the tech support number which only goes directly to voice mail. The other issue was the description of the bike showed it was to come with a color LCD display. It did not. I received one email from tech support and replied back quickly. No reply back and so I sent another email hours later. Not a great way to start. I did notice the tires do not seem to be very good tires so I will likely change them out top better tires and tubes if I can get the bike running. I will update this once this gets resolved assuming the issues get resolved quickly. The tech support number in California is only voicemail. I only received one email message from them on the initial ticket and no response to my replies. On a bright note, the bike frame seems to be built well and the connectors they use seem to be good quality. Arrived very well packaged. Instructions were fairly good. I would just recommend to them a better support method at this point. If they can get this fixed in a timely manner, I will gladly change my rating. Stay tuned for updates. 7-21-26- Received an email asking for photos and pictures showing me metering the battery and charger which I had done and sent to them in the first request. I had ordered two bikes from them at the start and now am thinking I should have waited before ordering the second bike. The support told me they have no phone service for repair or tech support. Only email. The number on the manual for support in California is just a fake number. I had to take off a star because of the poor service and poor-quality control of their products. If they somehow decide to give me better service and response times and get this quickly resolved I will update this and add stars. 7-22-26. Received my second bike yesterday and at least it works except it came with a faulty inner tube and old display. Both bikes were advertised with the new upgraded display. Once again support ask me to take picture of a leaky inner tube. I told them forget that I would just repurchase a new tube myself and I am also upgrading the junk tires they use on the bike. They still have not responded back about what they plan to do with battery/ charger they had me send picture of with me metering both with my voltage meter. It feels like they are trying to avoid doing anything about it. At this point I definitely would tell people to stay away from Ancheer. If they ever get it so I can use the first bike I will reconsider my score. Not totally giving up yet and asking to get an Amazon third party refund but getting close on at least one bike. They also seem to refuse to respond on the color upgraded display that was to come with the bike. ... show more

  • Great EBike for the Money - 2 Year review
I bought this bike in 2023 for short, steep uphill commutes to school. It has held up remarkably well over the 2 years I've had it (but not without issues). In terms of sizing, I think it would be a medium frame. It is a bit small for me at 6'. If you're not comfortable assembling and maintaining it , I'd recommend passing on this bike. Assembly was smooth but the brake cables needed to be tightened quite frequently. (A $60 set of Shimano MT200s fixed this problem.) The pedal assist is a joke but its common at this price point. I find the throttle more than adequate though. The front fork has no brand on it and is fully undamped and a little sketchy at high speeds. My first major issue with it was that the screen would overheat in the sun. While it did not affect the ability to ride the bike, I could not read the battery level, which was a bit of a drag. I reached out to Ancheer support and they sent me a new one. It has not had a problem since. Ancheer support was usually fast to reply. I did have to wait about 2 months for my new screen to arrive from some factory backlog. I also had the bottom bracket fail on me. I was able to replace this with a Shimano EBBUN300B22X but I was not able to reinstall the magnet ring that enables the pedal assist (oh well). I also installed a wider set of handlebars, a trigger style shifter and a Suntour coil fork. I've loved this bike as a starter platform. It works great out of the box, and when you feel like it you can upgrade it. Cheap upgrades go a long way to improving the handling and feel of this bike! The battery still has plenty of life left in it. The only thing that's a bit of a drag is the poor pedal assist. If I figure out some way to add a torque pedal assist to this bike I'll update the review. ... show more

  • Fantastic First eBike
Color: Sky Blue
I wanted to test the waters of the electric bike world and decided to try this Ancheer as it was very affordable. Believe me, I am so glad I did! I've had this bike for about four months now and I have zero complaints. It arrived quickly and was easy to assemble, only affixing the front wheel and the handlebars. I've since taken it to work and back, about 4 miles, nearly nearly every weekday and on several weekend trips as well. It rides well on the streets and some mild off-road treks. The battery charges quickly and lasts quite well. The longest trip I've done so far was about forty miles and it still had a charge at the end. The display is bright and easy to read and use. Acceleration is quick and it has enough power to keep me at the local legal limit of 20 mph up hills even with a loaded bag on the back. The disc brakes stop well and don't mind the rain either. TLDR: This is a great entry bike for anyone looking for a budget-friendly ebike. Update! I had a minor accident on my bike involving gravel and gravity. No major damage to me or the bike but I did need to replace a brake handle that my local bike shop didn't have. I contacted support and they were so polite and helpful! They even shipped me the part free of charge. I simply cannot recommend this bike and this company enough. Thank you support and thank you Ancheer. ... show more

  • Overall a decent bike and good value for short rides
So far I have had the bike for about a year with about ~1000km on the bike. It maxes out at 32km per hour I have been using almost entirely in pedal assist mode and the battery seems to last about 20 miles before needing to be charged. The pedal assist is nice especially on hills. I did find its best to set the pedal assist to 0 or 1 when in tight places as it tends to want to take off and lurch when you are trying to move slowly in a tight space. Noteworthy 1. The brakes are definitely undersized based on the weight of the bike. I commute about 25 miles a week and find they need to be adjusted every few weeks and replaced after a few hundred kilometers. 2. Parts are hard to find - probably because it's not a common brand and the seller doesn't offer replacement parts. 3. The rear wheel has a bit of a bounce, but can't really be trued up - probably due to the weight. 4. The bike is heavy and the majority of the weight is on the rear as a result the tires and brakes wear quickly. It also tends to get more flat tires on the rear. Assembly Assembly instructions are pretty bad and the pictures/illustrations are so dark they are worthless. I had an issue getting the front wheel on because the disk brake caliper was closed too far to allow the disk to fit. It took a little bit to figure out how to release them (no instructions on that). There are really no instructions on how to turn the bike on, operate or work the different modes. I finally figured out you have to press the button on the battery then press the on button on the display to turn the bike on. The issues I encountered out of the box 1. The front shock absorbing fork has a cap that allows the rider to lock/unlock the shock absorber. The cap was missing when it arrived and I have not been able obtain a replacement from the seller. 2. I am not able to change the setting from Km to miles. I found some references to a fix , however have tried without success holding down the + & - buttons simultaneously. Again no response from the seller Overall a decent e-bike for getting around the neighborhood, exploring or commuting 10 - 15 miles round trip. ... show more
