I got my dad a test from a different company a couple years ago. All his direct family has passed away so he could not confide in them for anything. His results were nothing close to what it should have been. I bought him this for Chritmas and his results were completely different and more to what he thought. The other company before said he was only 18% sweed (his mom was supposedly full sweed). When he got results back from ancestory it said 58% sweed. He feels much better and is closer in range to his cousins.

Makes you wanna know more about ancestry

Great gift for families but you must pay for additional features after trial period runs out. It's hard to find details if others don't have their information in their trees marked public. There is a lot of information to sort through. Be prepared to uncover information that you didn't know about family members. It was easy to lie on records back in the day and people didn't necessarily check out information written on marriage, birth and divorce records. A lot of things will turn up if you dig deep enough.

If you purchase this specific kit, please read! I have a heads up for you! I activated my kit and mailed it in… They received it quickly! All is good there- HOWEVER, if you activate it on the mobile app, you may not receive your free 3 months of World explorer. I had to contact Ancestry to get them to activate that for me, and they told me that they’ve been having issues when people activate their account using the app. They had no problem activating it for me once I contacted them, but if you don’t want to go through the extra hassle, activate it on your computer!
