The first thing that impressed me was the compact design and the “clean” high-end stainless look. I was a little concerned about the size of the unit and how much space it would take up in my kitchen. But it fits right in, and rather than making the counter look crowded, it provides an upscale look - it’s impressive and looks great! The build quality looks professional and suggests a much more expensive machine. The unit is very easy to use. The controls and interface are very user-friendly (Very different from my old machine). The setup for brewing is very straightforward without the need to make a ton of adjustments or first-time setup values. And yes, my first cup was perfect. About the flavor: Some think that expresso is an acquired taste, but I think it’s the machine - bringing together the right combination of temperature, time, and your favorite kind of bean. For me, the brewed espresso from this one is rich with lots of flavor. No burned or acidic aftertaste. The temperature was good, and I thought the crema was excellent. There are two cup sizes to match the amount of coffee you want to brew. And for newbies, there’s a complete set of instructions that are straightforward and easy to understand. My biggest hassle with machines I’ve had in the past has been to make sure they’re clean. This one has a removable water tank and what I’ll call the drip tray, which allows me to get things really clean. Beautiful to look at, this Amzchef espresso machine will glam up any kitchen. The directions are very detailed. They even explain how to get the best froth which is super helpful, especially if you are a novice. I drink espresso or cappuccino almost everyday so I have a lot of experience with making it. Another tip I will offer is that skim milk froths better than half and half for some reason. Also, this steam wand pulls in and out rather than a swing arm movement. It has a handy silicone piece so you don’t burn your fingers moving it when hot. The portafilter comes with two cup sizes which is a nice touch. Instead of filling the larger bowl halfway with coffee which will then be full of watery coffee grounds when you remove it you can use the smaller bowl. I will say these fittings are quite tight, maybe because it is new. I had to use some strength to lock it into the machine. The notch on the bowl was a little harder to line up with the portafilter than on other machines I have worked with. FYI the bowl will only release when the notch is lined up correctly. Also there is no lever which normally holds the bowl from falling out when you tamp out the old coffee. SO it is important to make sure the notch is NOT lined up or your bowl will fall out into the trash. Enjoy your “Caffe’ Espresso!” ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was a little skeptical, not knowing if having an espresso machine would be worth it. I do like a good cup of coffee and occasionally an espresso but never made one myself. I'd have to say, this machine takes all the guess work out of it. It has decent instructions and the machine itself is well made and easy to understand. Our first attempt was a success with a delicious cup. I can't start my day without coffee and after lunch coffee and another two more cups till the night. We also do a lot of RV trips and coffee was something I missed a lot during our camping so I tried this machine and it works great plus not take too much space in our motorhome so it works perfectly for me.
