  • more than I need
Color: Green
Received my bike this afternoon and just came back from my first 15 mile ride on an ebike. All I can say is that was really great and even though the Amkyet gb26 turned to be larger and heavier than I expected it is a wonderful product. The assembly instructions leave a bit to be desired but the procedure is not all that complicated. The bike has more than amble power and torgue to get you where you want to go safely and with great ease. I have not used it as a mountain bike so the concern re: breaks may be a real one but in the city and on general bike paths the mechanical breaks are more than adequate. The 5 PAS options take you from an effortless 12 mph to 28-30 with minimal increase in effort. All -in-all this is a substantially well put together bike offering much more than one would expect at it's price point. A good product at a good price. Harold Slobof Minneapolis ... show more

  • Nice bike
Color: Green
I ordered two of these bikes. One for me and one for my husband. Assembly was fairly easy. Unfortunately it is too tall for me. (I'm 5'4). I requested a refund but when speaking to the seller (who is very nice) - we found out we would not be reimbursed the shipping cost that we paid. Bummer! Seller said for keeping the bike, they will send us two bike locks which I thought was very nice. My husband has ridden his a few times now and he loves it! The green color is very sharp looking. Would recommend for anyone maybe 5'6 or taller. ... show more

  • It takes off really fast and that is scary to me.
Color: Green
It goes too fast for this 55 year old woman. I guess I ordered too big a bike for me and I am not short a 5’7. I didn’t anticipate it’s speed. I will not ride it again. Not that bike is a bad product I just can’t handle it. I don’t like motorcycles and this reminds me of one. It is for adventurous people. Not sure what i will do with it. It was easy to charge and easy to turn electric on once I contacted company and they told me how. They got back to me quickly. My son in law had to put it together for me as I am not mechanically inclined. I would warn people it takes off really fast so be prepared and careful. ... show more

  • Wow Excellent E-Bike !!
Color: Green
What an amazing Electric bike. it really moves well, even when pedaling. It is very sturdy, doesn't feel like its going to fall apart like some others we tried. it has a great battery and with quite a few charges in the past month or so,no problems at all. The green color looks really nice, with the contrast of the black, also the luggage rack comes in very handy. I will definitely recommend this bike to anyone that wants a decent electric bike. it would be nice if it had turn signals like some others, but that's not a deal breaker. ... show more

  • Great bike, Great deal!
Color: Green
I have family and friends who own electric bikes and they say this a not only a great bike but a great buy. Delivery was faster than promised. Assembly was very easy, they provided all the tools I needed. The bike comes with turn signals and horn. My friends did not, that is huge safety plus! It is very comfortable mostly because the saddle is easily adjustable. The fat tires also make for a comfortable ride, the streets here are very bumpy and I have curised right down them. The battery life has lasted a long time. If you want to go fast, this bike will fit that bill. ... show more

  • After many mods, approaching excellent rating
Color: Green
Out of the box l found several features that were lacking. The most glaring item was the lack of hydraulic brakes. This ebike weighs 65 lbs. When it gets moving in PAS 3 or 4, the mechanical brakes took quite a long time to stop the bike. The rear brake could not be adjusted to even slow down the bike, only the front brake could slow down the bike. After watching numerous Youtube Videos on the topic, it is possible to replace the mechanical brakes, but due to how the cables are routed through the frame of the bike doing a full swap to true hydraulic brakes was not feasible. They do make a hybrid hydraulic brake calipers which utilize the cables that operate the mechanical brake calipers. While not as strong as true hydraulic brake system, it does enable you to replace the mechanical calipers with these hybrid calipers which are vastly superior to the supplied brakes. My rear brake now operates and slows down the bike and with the front brake I slow down much faster than before. Hybrid brake calipers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095YF8NMQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 The battery could have a larger capacity. That being said, Amyet customer service indicated that a spare battery could be purchased, but they were currently out of stock. They should have them back in stock sometime in April. I will have to stay in touch with them via email and they will send me a link. I asked for a price and what I was quoted seemed low so I will hold off providing it here until I can procure one. The provided seat was too painful to use for riding. It might have been okay were I female, but I am not. While I was getting all the components together to make the bike useable I did not ride it until my new seat arrived. I needed a wider seat to accommodate my needs. More comfortable seat: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFXMW9Z5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details No rear view mirror. Bought two different styles, but of the two, this is the only one that worked. There was no provision to get ones that inserted to the end of the hand grips. Mirror: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G5H2RSM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details No turn signals, only a brake light. A combined setup would have been nice but I bought two of these, one for front and one for back. My second one has not yet arrived and Amazon is saying it is lost and the page for it is no longer on Amazon so I can't provide a link. There were several so one should be able to be located that will suffice. The headlight on the Amyet EB26 is very small and not very bright. SMLRO bikes have much larger headlights that appear to be better. Amyet customer service indicated that the large headlight they have on other models of Amyet ebikes would not work on the EB26 due to the connector on the cable. There was no provision to hold your phone so I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CJ2YNQV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 There is one issue with this item and that is while the zippers will probably never leak, they are extremely difficult to open and close. This is the helmet I am using. It is rechargeable and in lower light situations like dawn and dusk, the flashing lights are very visible. The front light while white, will toggle to flashing red which stands out. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMF3381P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 04/20/2024 - Addendum - The battery capacity does not produce the mileage indicated in the Amazon ebike listing. When I asked them if a larger capacity battery was available they indicated no. I am still waiting for the spare batteries to arrive. I do live in a very hilly area and that combined with my weight is probably why I don't get the listed mileage. I just finished two trips on the Amyet EB26 that combined a total of 14.1 miles. Only two bars remain on the display but I would not chance making an additional trip of the same duration for fear of being stranded. I believe I could peddle it back but it is heavy. 07/07/2024 - Addendum - I have received my spare battery for the Amyet EB26 ebike. The cost was $200 for an identical battery to the one supplied with the ebike originally. I also ordered and received an additional charger for the battery. The charger that came with the EB26 was a 2amp charger and took between 6-7 hours to fully charge the battery. The new charger that arrived for $20 is a 3amp charger with a cooling fan in the charger and it charges the batteries much faster than the original 2amp charger did. I have learned alot about how ebikes operate. This is my first ebike and it took some getting used to. The main reason I was depleting the battery so quickly has to do with the area I live in. I live out in the county of rural northwestern Georgia. There is a lot of farm land and the area is very hilly. There is very little flat land and no trails or bike lanes to ride on. My main reason for getting this ebike was to help me lose weight. Doc said I had to and it wasn't coming off easily. Fifty years ago I rode a ten speed Fuji bicycle all over the place in northeastern NJ where I grew up. I still have that Fuji ten speed, but I could never get around here in NW Georgia with all the hills and how out of shape I'd become. The ebike with its peddle assist modes gives me the boost I need to get up the hills around here and still get some excercise. Many videos I watched showed folks who live in urban areas with few hills if any and mostly flat terrain. Many of them ride using the throttle but that won't help me get my needed exercise. Initially I ran through all five PAS modes and it was a blast but I did peddle. That was why I was depleting the battery so fast. The motor was trying to keep me running at 22 mph (in PAS4) or 28 mph (in PAS5). So I learned I needed to stick to PAS2 (14 mph) and this enabled me to get more life out of the battery as well as the exercise I needed. So the terrain coupled with my weight was causing my issue. I can comfortabley achieve 25 miles of range out of this ebike now knowing what I've learned. But I like knowing that the spare battery is there in case I need it. Today for example, I left the house early before the heat really kicked in and went for a total 20.1 mile ride. It was great. I did have to stop and swap out the battery at the 16.5 mile mark as the battery had almost ten miles on it already. I still emplore all ebike manufacturers to get away from using mechanical brakes on their ebikes that can go faster than 20 mph and use hydraulic brakes. That is my biggest complaint with my EB26. ... show more

  • Excellent value and power.
Color: Green
The media could not be loaded. Bought this bike recently and so far I'm very satisfied with it. Excellent price for the features, power and quality. The bike is a bit heavy and the assembly instructions were lacking but overall the bike is great. Bigger than i expected but fast and fun. The instructions were lacking but I figured it out. You may want to consider taking it to a bike shop to have them assemble it properly. Be advised, however, this bike is very heavy. Almost 80 pounds. It's a struggle to lift it up into the bed of my truck. Also, I had to pay over $200 to upgrade the undersized brakes. The brakes that come on it are not strong enough to provide stopping power for such a heavy bike. Otherwise, I'm loving it. I get a lot of jealous looks when I'm riding it. ... show more
