I use this on my biracial daughter's curly 3b-3c hair when it's tied back, and it works very well. She's 6 and very active and rough, rolls around and pulls things over her head and messes up her hair, so this doesn't last perfectly all day, but given the rough treatment, it still lasts surprisingly well, and better than other products I've tried. By the end of the day, there are some stray hairs sticking out, but the majority of them are still held in place. If I slick the hair down with a boar's hair brush and really work the product in and smooth it out when applying, it lasts longer. If I get lazy and don't work it in as well... not so much. What I really love about this product is that it's not greasy or flaky. Everything else I use on her hair, I have to scrub my hands with dish soap afterwards to get the slipperiness off (including Shea Moisture products), but this one, I just rinse with water and my fingers are squeaky. Very good. I've gone natural and have been for the last two years. Applying this to my head, it will only tame my edges for a few hours. If I don't wear a scarf until it dries, my hair will just curl right back up. However, I have also used this when my hair was relaxed. It lasted all day.
