I replaced my 20+ year set of dinnerware with this one after searching several sites for the perfect rustic-looking option. My first choice was a set from Food52 that totaled up to nearly $800. That sent me looking for a less expensive version since I wanted service for 12. I read a lot of reviews and decided to take a chance on this set. It did NOT disappoint! It’s beautiful and practical and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve only had it a week so can’t speak to durability yet. I can, however, speak to customer service. I bought this set with pasta bowls. I really like them. The only problem I have is they are a set of 4 each. I purchased the mugs separately because they were not included in the set. The mugs come in a set of 6. The site doesn't offer an all inclusive set of 6. They also don't offer items sold as singles. Yes, I could buy another set of 4 but having 8 of everything is too many and takes up a lot of cupboard space and is very heavy. Also I would be 2 mugs short. I love this set! Everything came packaged nicely, and it’s so pretty. I’m in love with this purchase. I wanted plates with the lip on them, and the bowls are the perfect size. My only complaint is they don’t really fit the dish rack for drying. I hand wash my dishes and the slats in the rack aren’t wide enough anymore. Either way, it’s still 5 stars from me. ... show more

Used plates once and it chipped!!! So upset!! I ordered two sets and now what do i do? Very disappointed waiting to hear back from customer support. Update!! The company sent me a whole new set and no other plates have chipped since then!

I'm always baffled at some Amazon reviews that nitpick some of the smallest details. My wife and I needed nice dinnerware to serve up to twelve for holidays and special occasions, but we didn't want to spend close to $1,000 for plates that will get used a handful of times out of the year. We picked these plates since they are durable stoneware and have a handmade look and feel. The reactive glaze does give each plate a slightly different color, but all of them are khaki and sage green, with some having a tiny hint of blue. This works well with our decor. The pros: The plates were packaged well and none of them were cracked or broken. They are very durable and heavy which I prefer. Unlike some ceramics, using stainless steel utensils on these plates won't leave little marks and streaks (which can be removed with baking soda). They also fit in our dishwasher nicely. The glaze is also done nicely and I have no fear of it wearing or chipping. The (somewhat) cons: On a handful of the plates there is a little mark on the edge where it looks like someone touched it before going into the kiln. This is only in the color and not in the finish. One of the reviews mentioned that the plates don't sit perfectly flat, which is true. Each plate has a bit of a wobble to it, some more than others, but it's not that noticeable. Unless you are cutting through a thick piece of steak all the way on the edge of the plate, you won't be applying enough force when eating to wobble them. I've tested this on some of my other plates from IKEA and those wobble too, so don't be too worried about this. Afterall, these have more of a handmade look so expect some imperfections like this. If you find this to be an issue you can actually place the plate on a large sheet of sandpaper and sand them down so they are perfectly flat. For the price we paid, $260 dollars for 48 dishes, I'm very satisfied with these. ... show more
