These are heavy duty plates. I really like the lip to keep sauces in place. They are beautiful, too. My only complaint is that they break and chip easily. 4/5 stars.

This set came tightly packed in thick, corrugated cardboard. There's very little chance of breakage on the way with this level of care. The set has a black exterior and grayish-white interior, a minimalist color combo that is up to date in style and easily fits with most decors. The pieces are huge. The dinner plate is more like a serving platter. It could hold enough food to feed three people, assuming normal portion sizes. I use the smaller plates for my meals because the portions that are reasonable for me get dwarfed in the dinner plate. The raised rim around the plates is a nice touch, preventing accidental spillage. The bowls likewise are for someone with a huge appetite. They're too big for me to use as cereal bowls, but they'll be ok for soups and stews. They're the perfect size for mashing potatoes for one. My masher fits in exactly. The pieces are extremely heavy. While it's still possible for them to chip and break if you're careless, the sheer heft should protect them to some degree. I do think they're a little pricey for a 12-piece set, but then again they seem be high quality.

They look great but after the initial dishwasher load, one of the bowls has started to show cracking whereas another broke in half I’ve contacted support but have not heard back and will update this review if it’s ever resolved but buyer beware

Really love these dishes. They are some of the best-made dishes that I have ever had. They are very well-made and heavy-duty. And I do mean heavy!! I would definitely recommend these to anyone who wants a good set of dishes

Wife got these and I didn’t think would like em as much as do. They are made very well. They have some weight to em and def don’t feel like they are made cheap. When I first saw them with the lip around the plates I was a little off put at first. But now using them I find myself using these plates the most in the few different style plates I have. Love the fact they feel like they are actually well made and not some cheap plastic. But having those lips around the plates really is what I like the most about it. When you pile food on your plate and if it has gravy, sauce, runny or any type of liquid on these plates you have no worries about anything falling off your plate and either falling on the floor, table, or your cloths, all your food stays rt there on the plate, juices and all. Def would get more of these ever broke on me. Those lips on the Sid elf the plates are things you never knew you wanted till you used it. And a ex military guy like myself. I eat fast and messy so these are a huge win for me. Thank you my wife for these
