I will not say it is "easy" to assemble, it did take an hour or so, but the instructions are very clear on how to do it. Be forewarned, it is pretty heavy. I had had it delivered to my old place before moving, and had to have the movers move the box of pieces for me because I could not lift it (I did not assemble it until I was in my new house).

Took my boyfriend two nights to assemble it all. Is definitely heavy and sturdy. Fits our 70inch TV and while I was worried about the feet of the TV not really fitting well, it does but just by the hair. It is a good height and I'm happy with this purchase

After reading some of the reviews for this product, I almost did not buy it. There were more than a normal amount of negative reviews stating that parts of the cabinetry arrived all scratched up. Some of those reviews also included pictures and a lot of scratches might be a bit of an understatement. This TV stand fit my requirements much better than all the others so I took a chance and ordered it. I was relieved to see that the box it was shipped in was still sealed and there wasn't any physical damage to the box, I checked all of the parts and inventoried them as well as I unpacked the box and everything that was supposed to come with this unit was delivered and everything was in very good condition as well. I think the scratch's that some people found on their units probably occurred in shipping. The box was well packed with enough Styrofoam to provide some protection if the box was dropped and the Styrofoam also kept parts from moving about. This unit has a lot of pieces and hardware to it. The instructions were pretty easy to follow but the sheer amount of parts/assembly made assembly take around 2 hours to complete. Once put together the whole stand feels sturdy and stable and for the most part I am happy with my purchase. There are a couple of things I dislike though. The hinges that mount the 2 doors up front are very cheap. They work but they also make noise when you open either door. It sounds like some part of the hinge is grinding against another part of the hinge. My other complaint has to do with the legs the cabinet sits on. Not so much the legs but rather the very soft particle board that is used throughout. The legs are made of metal and the screw into areas of the bottom of the cabinet where the factory recessed a screw anchoring piece of hardware that the screw end of the legs will screw into. In theory this seems to be a quick and easy way to attach the legs and if it wasn't for the too soft particle board they recessed the anchors for the legs into, there would be no problem. Unfortunately the particle board is way to soft to have anything recessed into it. That wasn't an obvious problem until I went to slide the unit closer to the wall. I was sliding the until slowly over carpeting and I slid the unit 2 or 3 inches and then one of the legs came popping out from under one corner of the unit.Turns out that the particle board is softer that I could have ever imagined and it took very little drag between the carpet and the leg to shatter the particle board that was surrounding the recessed anchor. I can fix this so it is not that big of a deal but if you do not have any background that you can turn to to fix it, You are going to have to either break off all the remaining legs so that the unit sits once again stable. Still, the overall value and quality are good enough to overlook these 2 issues. Just be careful if you go to slide the unit to better situate the cabinet slide it very carefully and slowly. If you don't you will find that your unit doesn't have any legs all of the sudden.

Looks great but don’t expect it to warm a large area or room. I have it in my basement and it looks great and holds my 70 inch tv just fine but I still need a space heater down there. I wasn’t really expecting it to work as a heater though so I’ll definitely recommend buying.

This is a short and sweet review for the Altra Furniture Carson TV Stand for 50 inch television, the coffee table, and audio towers. Each of the items arrived in a box that had wooden protection wedges around the corners, so no packages arrived with chipped corners or damage. The boxes were packed perfectly and easy to maneuver through the front doorway. Each item had its own set of instruction that were very simple to understand. When a diagram list a certain part (screw or bolt) it uses a number system to identify which bag the piece will be in, each of the bags are numbered. They all came with an allen key, but a Phillips head screw driver is required. Installation was a quite easy and was less than an hour for all the products. I'm not sure why so many reviewers stated having a problem attaching the door, but it was rather simple for me. A diagram is included in the instructions to guide you on the ways to change the doors height, extension, and tightness. The TV stand feels sturdy and is currently holding my 55 inch tv with no problem, the sides of the tv do protrude slightly out from the border of the stand, but not enough to drive, as my wife calls me, an OCD maniac wild. Underneath the top layer where my tv sits, I was able to fit my sound bar with no problem. The two other slots below hold my bluray player and special items box. I would say once the unit is built it weighs around 60 pounds, and it did require a two person lift to move safely. The coffee table is sturdy as well, I currently have it sitting atop of my carpet and it does not wobble or feel unstable. It has two open sides on the bottom that can be used for storage. All together I would say the table weighs about 50 pounds. I constructed it off my carpet and then had my wife help me move it to where it currently is, center on the carpet. The picture shows two mini baskets being used and I am currently trying to find some that will fit, I will update this when I have tracked some down. The audio towers are great, they have three shelves, a base, and a storage compartment underneath. My only complaint is that they do appear to be a little small, I was under the impression that they were taller. I included a photo in the review that shows myself in front of the towers to demonstrate how tall they are, I am exactly 6 feet tall. I would say the towers are somewhere around four and a half feet tall. Each shelf weighs about 38 pounds and is pretty easy to move around. I constructed it off to the side of my living room and then moved it over to its current position by myself. Now my final thoughts and comments. For the price, these units are a great deal. They look neat and are very simple to construct. However I do see these as temporary furniture, meaning they will be replaced with higher quality furniture in the future. These do scuff and scratch easily and cause the material to come right off and reveal the board underneath it. I am an OCD person and discolorations like that do bother me, however my wife says I am crazy and can barely notice them. I would also avoid standing on any of the items, they have a weight limit, my TV stand is holding my 55 inch tv with no problem, but I fear that heavier weights would cause the boards to crack. They do have shelves that can go inside the storage cabinets, but it would divide the space into very small portions. I left the shelves out on the tv stands and can fit my blu-ray dvds inside, but only have a slight amount of space between the top and my dvd cases. When you are installing, be careful to not over twist any of the cylinders, because over twisting them will crack the wood. I am rating each of these products a 5/5 because they are just such a great deal. For a little over 200 dollars I was able to acquire a matching coffee table, TV stand, and two audio towers. They are decent quality and will serve their purpose well for the next year. With proper care, these pieces can last quite some time, just be sure to treat them right. I will be purchasing the end tables because I am so satisfied with these products. Hope this helped answer any questions, and be sure to check out the included pictures.

I received this early as expected. It took only 3 hours to assemble. I like the style of it and lots of spaces and rooms for your remote controller, dvd’s , etc.. The only issue that I have was one of the door is too tight at the bottom when I close it to the point that it now have scratches. I tried to fix it couple of times but its still the same. I guess I can just put something to cover the mark but, other than that I have no problem with it.
