  • Construction and Assembly Suggestions
Color: Distressed Oak
Hi, Just completed assembly in an hour and fifteen minutes. There’s a couple of things you should note. 1. The dimensions are misleading, as they refer to the exterior including the moldings. We acquired this to store kitchen items like an 18 quart nesco, a pressure cooker and a large crock pot. They all measure 15 inches at their widest point, and this says the dimensions are 16 inches deep, so we thought we were fine. The “actual” shelf depths are only 12 inches, defeating the purpose for which we ordered it. 2. The assembly instructions have flaws. You need to assembly the back panels together BEFORE you tighten the frame, as the frame is routered with groves for the back panels to fit into, so you cannot get them inserted once the frame has been assembled and tightened. 3. The assembly instructions state to level this and also add the screws necessary to hold the back panels in place, after assembly and completed. Don’t! Assemble the bottom unit only, slide it into it’s resting place, then level it and insert the back screws when you slide it back out from the wall. If you don’t do that first, the unit will not be level when completed and the door seams in the middle where they close together and the top and bottom seams will not line up, because the cabinet will be out of square. All our door seams and frames lined up perfect when done. 4. Also suggest you completely install the top section while on the floor, as you can be a lot more accurate then up six feet high and trying to set and tighten it there. Also add your screws and brackets to cabinet back at this time also, for fastening it to the wall. That will make it simple to add the wall brackets and tighten cabinet later. Then lift the completed top and set it on the lower cabinet section for tightening. All in all, a very nice cabinet for the money, with construction of all veneers and solid frames instead of pressed board. The finish is of very good quality also. Just wish they would have listed “interior or storage” dimensions! Thank You! Rick ... show more

  • Love it!
Color: Distressed Oak
Very impressed with this piece. I was dreading the assembly but it ended up being the easiest piece of furniture I've ever assembled. It took 30 minutes to get it all unpacked and set gently onto my carpet, then only an hour to assemble it. The packaging was excellent, down to the hardware, and the directions were very easy to follow, a real no brainier actually. And I'm a non-handy single mom:-) It's basically two halves that you assemble the same way then set one on top of the other, add the top piece, and ta-da! Very heavy top and bottom pieces too so I feel no need to attach it to the wall even with a hyper 6yo in the house. Oh, and I didn't "level" it like it says to, just tightened the cam locks as I went, and it turned out perfectly fine. What I liked best about this piece' assembly is that the hinges were already attached-- you just slide the doors into the pins on the hinges. With other furniture when I've had to screw on door hinges, they almost never look lined up right in the end. So this was awesome. I did do one stupid thing and shut the cabinet doors before putting the knobs on. Don't do this! Lol it took awhile to open it, the magnets are very strong. Beautiful color too! Much prettier than in the picture. ... show more

  • It even smells nice!
Apartment living has me searching out every little bit of storage room and I decided I wanted to add a cabinet to my shelving options. I searched various types, settling on a pantry cabinet and this one in particular after a few weeks. The price was higher than I really wanted to spend, but it met my requirements, as well as fitting right into my current furniture styles/colors. The deciding factor was the thought of replacing one I did not like in a few years after having spent 2/3 the cost of this - or being happy with the one I got for just a bit more from the start. Delivery was Amazon's scheduled delivery (first time I've used that), on time - placing inside my entryway where I asked (thankful for that, it's heavy!). There was no damage to any piece and it was packed well. Putting it together really is a 2 person job - that said, I assembled solo (female without much strength but a huge 'can-do' attitude) taking breaks. All told, I had it together in 3 hours with many breaks for other life tasks (and dodging a curious dog) - had I just sat down to get it done it would've been an hour.. ish. Once I had the base cabinet built, I moved it to the area it resides, but a bit out from wall so I could access the back - moving it once fully assembled is actually easier than moving it in its box. My ONLY complaint: the build did not fully align well in the lower right hand corner of the upper cabinet, there is a bit of a gap - yet everything shows level. It bugs me, but I can't see it (I simply know its there). This may be my build/lack of strength to push it together, and not an actual issue (everything else is nice and flush) and does not appear to effect the integrity. There is no wobble in this cabinet, it feels like higher end quality - not home assembled. I was happy that the door hardware was already installed, no worries about alignment as you get with Ikea (not insulting Ikea.. just noting it's a step above in the flat pack market). The magnetic catch on the doors is a nice addition, each door opens/closes without issue/smoothly. And it smells like stained wood should. The storage capacity is as expected per the measurements (it's actually wider than I thought - but that was my spacial expectation, measures accurately. It feels larger than it actually is to me (not a pro or a con, just an observation). I gave 4 stars as I felt some of the instructions were a bit out of order (I listened to another purchaser that placed the knobs on prior to door in place.. glad I did), and that bit of a gap. I would give 4.5 if I could. I would recommend, and I would buy again. It's really quite pretty (which storage often isn't) and to have 2 adjustable shelves in both top and bottom as well as center separator/shelf, makes organizing/storing odd sides easy. ... show more
