When we tried to install the new tank we found it wasn't for American Standard Champion 4...it looks to fit the Cadet. After installation the fit worked well with parameters. Summary we bought a tank for American Standard Champion 4.... we received a Cadet tank instead.... due to timing and labor we used The Cadet Tank than waiting for a replacement. The original tank cracked at the flush handle hole and leaked water on the floor, luckily we caught it withing a few minutes and had no damage. I was worried about having a new one shipped to us but Amazon was the fastest way to get a replacement so we gave it a shot. The tank arrived double packed in two different boxes with padding between them and between the tank and the inner box. Super impressed with the care taken to protect the fragile tank and would not be worried about shipping in the future. The tank was an exact replacement for the original and included the flushing mechanism so the replacement was fast and easy. Just make sure to be careful when tightening the tank to the seat as this is the time when most failures occur. We had one person carefully pressing down on the bowl while another alternated between tightening the two screws. Once the tank stopped wobbling because it had made porcelain to porcelain contact with the seat in both the front and rear we stopped tightening the screws. No cracks from the install and no cracks for over 1 month since. The new tank works just as great as the old one did before it got cracked. ... show more

Like other reviewers, I found a crack in my original tank, around the handle and growing downward toward the bowl. That toilet was just installed about four years ago. We were so glad to find a replacement tank on Amazon. As others did, ours came with everything needed to install it, including a tightening tool to secure it. Dear One did the job himself, with very little help from me, I'm afraid. Let's hope this one doesn't also crack. ๐Ÿ˜„ ... show more

Loved the fact that it was totally complete and ready to install. They even supplied the tool to tighten the new tank onto the base unit. Took me 20 minutes at most to install the new tank. That even included the time needed to remove all the water from the old tank. Excellent product.

I just bought a house and it came with a American Standard toilet. Unfortunately, the toilet tank cracked so I had to replace it. I didn't want to buy the whole toilet because I am a petite lady and installation would be hard on my own, and getting a plumber would be far too expensive. Thus, I opted in buying the tank individually. Installation was VERY DIFFICULT to say the least, when it shouldn't have! The given screws were BROKEN and the tank to bowl gasket was TOO BIG!. And I know that certain toilet bowls only fits certain tanks, but I made sure before purchasing the tank that it was the correct size by contacting customer service and talking to different representatives. So when installing, there was a lot a lot a lot of leakage because the screws couldn't be tighten since THEY WERE BROKEN and the gasket was way TOO LARGE. I could have/should have returned the tank, but I already put so much time into setting it up. I had to go to the hardware store and buy seperate parts when it said it was included in this "easy installation". WHAT A LIE!!! I am so upset. It took way too long to install, so maybe I should have just opted in buying a whole new toilet and a plumber. Probably would have been less money and not a waste of my time. OR if i got a better kit.... ... show more

Direct replacement for a tank that was damaged while removed for closet flange repair. Was a bit surprised that it was fully assembled with both fill and flush valves and even had tank bolts already in place. Just unboxed and bolted into place using the new gasket that was also included.
