The first one lasted 7 years! It was still working but seat had a crack and was just starting to look worn out.

Seat Cracks
Works well BUT no matter what I try the seat shifts to one side which has caused it to severely crack underneath. Sent request for replacement, never got a response.

It's larger than it looks online
It's like having a ninja with a fire-hose pop out and clean you up. I've used this type of bidet alot when I was in Japan and this one ranks right up there with the high end Toto's as far as cleaning goes. The massage feature is super nice and its surprisingly quiet. Few draw backs are that it's larger than it looks online and the seat isn't auto function.

CAN'T LOCK!
Poor instructions never tells how lock works or nor locates the locking mechanism. Called American Standard with no help. Had to put large tie wrap around toilet to secure. Disappointed.

First I felt silly, only to be shocked at how quickly I'd grown accustomed to the warmth and luxury!!
So here's a review I never thought I'd be writing. Actually, I've reviewed bum-cleaning products twice before on Amazon. This is the fanciest one yet. The first was a FridaBaby "Fridet" ButtWasher. The second was a Hyba Personal Cleansing stand thingy by Quilted Northern. But this INAX fancy toilet seat is my favorite so far, BY FAR. To be honest, my husband saw it and ordered it on my account and I was sort of surprised. But then he reminds me I'm always saying how smart the French are to have bidets be standard. So it arrived, and he installed it immediately in our master bathroom. Not sure I'd put one of these in the main bathroom which guests would use...it somehow feels like an intimate item. I don't want something that washes my bum washing my guests bum. But that's just me. First, it fit our elongated Niagara toilet just perfectly. I felt sort of silly using it for the first time. Here are my initial thoughts... - The heated seat is new to me. It sort of feels like someone was just sitting on it...except hotter. You can adjust the temp using the remote which attached to our wall right next to the toilet. I like it in the middle. Too low wasn't worth it and too hot wasn't comfortable for me (but no where near burning). - Because of the design, the seat seems to pitch forward a bit. Still, it isn't uncomfortable or too far forward. Just needs some getting used to after years on a flat, plain toilet seat. - The bidet action made me (and my husband) squeal the first time we experienced it. But then we got used to it. And now we make fun of each other for squealing in the toilet. - There is a regular cleansing spray, and then a "bidet" button. The bidet button has a lady figure on it, so you have to assume it is...ahem...more forward action for various reasons. - I have not used the massage feature. I will work up the courage soon, and will update if there is anything profound to say. - This needs a grounded bathroom plug. Makes me feel better knowing my toilet seat won't electrocute me. - The "hole" is a bit smaller than usual because of the necessary design (with the water storage, batteries and all). But it's nothing I can't live with. - Cleaning the toilet is a bit more complicated now. Just saying. More hard-to-reach areas, though the seat does easily slip off for easier cleaning. Still. So just as thought I was getting used to the luxury of having a warmed, bidet toilet seat...my husband unplugged it to tidy up for our house to be appraised. He wanted to hide all unnecessary cords out of view for the day. But then I went to the bathroom and sat down and...man...that cold seat was just appalling to me. What?! It's been just a FEW days of using the luxury toilet seat and I'm already THAT used to it? The coldness sort of sickened me. It felt gross. It felt sterile and uninviting. So there you have it. While at first I felt silly using a toilet seat with tons of bells and whistles...well, after using it for just a few days I found I cannot live without those bells and whistles anymore. I've felt cleaner than ever, it's true. I'd already been a bit of a neat freak when it comes to my derrière, but previously I accomplished this by using frequent showers and lots of baby wipes. I still take showers, mind you. But the bidet toilet seat is now doing a nice job of helping me maintain freshness. Well. I can't believe I've reviewed a bum-cleaning product...AGAIN. And this time I loved the product. And just so you know, I've had to resist adding an extra "t" each time I've typed "but" for this review. YES I recommend it. If you're in the market for a bidet toilet seat, we're quite fond of this one!
