    • A satisfying flush.
The old flushing contraption was just awful. It was falling apart. Replaced with this part and was glad I didn't decide to replace the entire toilet. Works well. Installation is straight forward. Take your time. As others have pointed out you may need to pry a bit to get the old part released from the base after removing the screws. A spongy, raggedy black gasket remained. The directions do not tell you to remove it....but it needs to be discarded. There is another new gasket loosely attached to the new part. It had fallen off. One side of that gasket was a bit smoother than the opposite side. I had to guess which side was to face down. (I chose the "shinier" side down using my half-baked powers of logic...it also had an inspection mark on that side.) Anyhoo, I am enjoying satisfying flushes and you will too. I held a ceremonial throwing out of the contraption flush assembly which was gratifying. Perhaps I will upload a video of that on You Tube. It brought tears to my eyes. ... show more

Plastic. Perfect.. correct size for my America. Standard champion parts. No issues! Easy to install Thxs youtube. Identical to old valve. I take pictures as remove old unit and place on the sink the exact order the should be reinstalled.

    • As advertised
It is what I ordered and as described. The only problem is that the post office dropped the package in the middle of the driveway where the neighbors dogs can get to it. Mine have been trained to ignore them but the neighbors dogs like to destroy packages. That's why I have a shelving unit in the car port where packages can be left in safety. Only delivery people who don't use it are some of the postal carriers. In this case my dogs let me know the neighbors dogs where in the yard and I was able to get it without damage. ... show more

Our 1 yr old American Standard running water 24/7. I We determined that we needed a seal. YOU CANNOT buy the seal alone. You have to buy this $27.00 replacement kit to get the piece. This piece was nowhere alone. Disappointing and feel taken for a small plastic ring. Even the U Tubers say ...this is the only way to get what you need. ... show more

    • Don't Buy The USED Version !
I bought the USED version for $21.11, saving about $6.20. It was advertised as "very good, with minor cosmetic blemishes". It did not come with a mounting nut, and the gasket on it was old and hard and would not seal. After I bought a new gasket for $8.00 and switched it out, the whole mess cost me more than what the new unit would have been in the first place. ... show more

    • Borrowed some parts from one piece for my two piece valve
I ordered this one piece valve just for the top part of the valve. Took off that little top hat part under the locking screw and its gasket and transferred to my two piece toilet valve. Five minute job. The rim around the top of that little top hat on my old valve was cracked and not sealing the gasket well. I was glad to see the moving parts are same across both valves. I wasn’t willing to wait a month for the correct valve to be stocked. ... show more

It's a great OEM replacement but unfortunately it no longer comes with the wrench tool needed to remove the old one and tighten the new one. And good luck finding one seeing as American Standard discontinued the champion 4 from its primary production lines.
