I don’t usually write reviews, but this one definitely deserves it. My toilet had been running on and off for weeks, and it was starting to drive me crazy (not to mention the water bill). I decided to give the Fluidmaster 400H Performax a try, and I’m really glad I did. Installation was surprisingly easy. I’m not a plumber by any means, but the instructions were clear and everything fit perfectly. Took me maybe 10–15 minutes from start to finish. The adjustable height feature made it simple to dial in the right fit for my tank. The difference was immediate. The fill is much quieter than the old valve, and it shuts off clean without that annoying trickling sound. The water level is now consistent, and the toilet refills quickly without being loud or aggressive. It also feels like a solid, well-made piece—nothing cheap or flimsy about it. You can tell it’s built to last. If you’ve got a running toilet or an old fill valve, just replace it with this and save yourself the headache. For the price, it’s a no-brainer.

The Fluidmaster 400H-002 Performax Universal Toilet Fill Valve completely solved the issues I was having with my toilet. I picked this up to replace an older, noisy fill valve in a Kohler toilet, and overall it’s a solid upgrade. Install was about as straightforward as it gets. If you’ve ever opened a toilet tank before, you can handle this. Shut off the water, swap the valve, adjust the height, and you’re basically done. Took me maybe 10–15 minutes taking my time. The instructions are clear, and the adjustment dials make it easy to fine-tune both the tank and bowl water levels. Performance-wise, it’s noticeably better than what it replaced. Fills faster, much quieter, and the tank shuts off clean without that lingering hiss you sometimes get with older valves. Flush feels more consistent too. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is the refill hose clip. On my Kohler setup, that clip just would not stay put - it kept slipping off and turning into a mini water feature inside the tank. Not exactly what you want. I ended up using a small zip tie to secure it, and that solved the problem immediately. Once that was handled, everything worked perfectly. Build quality feels solid, and the adjustability is a nice bonus if you’re trying to dial things in or save a little water. Bottom line: very easy install, quiet and efficient performance, just be prepared to improvise a bit with the hose clip depending on your toilet setup.

Threr if the American standard ones after about 7 years kept getting stuck and would not fill the tank wuthout opening the lid and tapping the fill lever. I can't believe I went through the torture for over a year. These were so cheap and so easy to install. All of them have been working flawlessly. I have only been using them for about 3 months. Super easy process to replace. I’m not super handy and don’t have a lot of tools but this was an easy project in my books. I will not that I did have to reuse the bottom wing nut (guessing that’s what it’s called) from my old set up as it was easier to tighten in the right space. Other than that absolutely zero issues. My toilet quit running and my water bill is back down. And after I got everything tightened properly I’ve experienced zero leaks. To note I did do a test run and saw some drippage but that was my issue not the product. After I retightened and checked back later everything was good to go. Directions were incredibly clear and easy (ok so I actually read them after I installed it…BUT they are exactly what I did! lol) and made it clear how to adjust the water fill levels. If you’re scared of this don’t be. It’s been a few weeks and I have no complaints. Save yourself some plumber cashola and do this yourself.

Works great in my American Standard Champion 4 M/N 4266. Fills up very fast (finished before I'm done washing my hands) and quietly (can barely hear it in the bathroom instead of having to turn the TV up in the other room with the original one). Install was a piece of cake. Didn't have to remove the tank, just have a bucket under the old connection to catch the left over water in the tank (there will be a lot if you have the original champion 4 flush valve).
