I noticed a slight trickle going into the bowl. Thought the flapper was worn so I replaced it. Problem persisted. Realized it was because the tank water was going into the overflow tube. Apparently, the valve kept filling the tank despite the float being on top. It was a very slow fill so I couldn't even hear it. Bought this valve to replace it. Easy work. No tools required. These fill valves are outstanding. They are as easy to install as any Fluidmaster valve, but these are quieter, and you can also adjust the water level in the bowl by simply turning a knob. That’s a huge benefit with today’s low flow toilets. My fill valve in a Gerber toilet stopped shutting off, so I searched for a Gerber replacement. Amazon had one for over twice the cost of this Fluidmaster. Then I checked my toilet again, and the fill valve that came with it is actually a Fluidmaster, so I assumed this one would work, and it does. The installation instructions were very clear and it would have taken only 5 minutes to install this had I not had problems getting the lock nut off of the old one. ... show more

It actually has little adjustments on it to lower or raise the water level etc. It looks the same as the OEM, I bought two toilets at the same time, the first valve went out about 5 months ago now the second toilet has followed up. I will judge these as to how long they last as compared to OEM. Last but not least they are cheaper than OEM. Nuff said! ... show more

Although I trust the Fluidmaster brands quality and performance, some products just dont last a lifetime and occasionally need replacing. This is one of those items. With 3 bathrooms in my home, I usually keep one or two of these on hand for a quick and easy repair when needed. This model from Fluidmaster strikes the perfect balance between price and quality. I like the quietness of the fill valve and extended warranty. Easy to install and adjust tank water level. I have found the adjustment control for the bowl water is a waste of time. If I try to get more water in the bowl in will insert the water. The problem is the toilets are made to maintain a certain water level in the bowl. If you use the adjustment valve to insert more water the P Valve drains the water out of the bowl to the designed water level of the toilet. Next time I need a fill valve, I'll purchase one without the bowl water adjustment feature. ... show more
