Nov. 16 I bought two of these toilets. Feb. 23 the handle of one of them broke off while a guest was flushing it. As expensive a toilet as this one surely deserves a handle that lasts more than three months. Nevertheless, these are very nice toilets and I would give them at least a 4 rating except for American Standard's Customer Assistance. When I called to complain I was left on hold for 20 minutes before I finally hung up. Evidently they have no intention of helping anyone. ... show more

Good toilet, but it was a much better deal when it was only $211 just a couple of weeks ago on Amazon! I'll be buying the other two I need somewhere else this time around.

So I wanted to wait a week before posting about it. First the packaging the toilet comes in is fantastic, no way this things gonna break during delivery, Instructions are simple and the tank and bowl connect very easily and completely. Toilet height is just right, my last toilet sat to low and for me being 6 feet tall it was hard ot sit that far down. my wife on the other hand is only 5.2 and loved the low toilet. This new one is called RIGHT height and it is!! not low for me and not too tall for my wife. Now for the flush, I looked long and hard to find a GOOD flushing toilet, living in california we are limited to 1.2 gpf. I had a 1.6 gpf pressure assist toilet that would NEVER clog, but it finally broke and I knew i was never going to get that out of a gravity 1.2 flush. But like i said looking long and hard and doing a lot of surfing the web to find reviews I finally made my choice. For the price this toilet is really good. the reason for a 1 star deduction is that it will clog on you from time to time. it is only a 1.1 gpf toilet, however they did build it so when you flush it closes its flapper right away for a 1.1gpf, but if you hold down the lever on those times you did your business and maybe had too much toilet paper in the bowl chances are it will flush it all without getting clogged. At the end of the day its a pretty good toilet especially for the price and my city was also offering a $40 rebate on replacing 1.6gpf toilets with this 1.1 gpf. P.S. you will have to buy the toilet seat and the wax gasket (i used a rubber gasket for the first time and I liked it a lot better and no mess) ... show more

If you are looking for the H20 dual flush toilet note that the Optimum is single flush and the Option is dual flush. Why do companys name things almost identical?? They deserve negative stars for the naming. I thought that I ordered the dual flush but got the single flush. The dual flush had mixed reviews so I was conflicted . The single flush clears the bowl perfectly--even when it seems impossible and just with a single push and no holding the lever. Over all I am content but do wonder how the dual flush would have worked out. The packages come double boxed with a huge shock absorbing outer foam box. It appears that the toilet parts could have survived being dropped off of a delivery truck. The two piece kit arrived in perfect condition. American Standard makes great toilets. ... show more

This toilet had a crack in bottom of bowl. The crack escalated up and entire toilet cracked into 2 pcs. Too heavy to return it ourselves being UPS never picked it up after 2+ wks. Now stuck with it on front porch. Do ck the base before taking the bowl from box. $211 alot to spend to lose it all...
