I am a renter with a small lawn. I dislike the noise of the gas powered mowers and the fight to start them. I didn't want to use the awful one that the landlord left me and didn't want to sink money into something that I didn't want. This reel mower was the perfect answer. Under $100!!! It was delivered, I put the handle on and did a test run. It worked but needed to be raised because my lawn has some divots and tree roots to get around here and there. I watched a video on how to raise it, did that and then it worked absolutely like a dream. It makes a scraping noise that is just the mower metal working, but that is it for noise. Sure beats needing to wear ear plugs. It cut my grass just like I was behind a gas mower, but just far more pleasant an experience. I followed up with my weed eater, no biggie. I am going to purchase the blade sharpener, too, eventually so it can keep working its best. Really pleased....another thing, if you have a bad time with grass and pollen allergies this mower also helps. It doesn't kick up everything into the air so that you are breathing all the grass,etc. Another helpful hint that I follow, don't go out to mow with your harmless reel mower while your neighbors are flinging about the grass and such with their gas powered mowers. I love this mower, I always used gas before but never cared for the noise and storing the gas. Thought about battery mowers but was concerned about the cost of replacement batteries and the long-term availability of them. Plus, a good battery mower is expensive. I live in South Carolina, so I’ve mowed my lawn 10+ times already. I have a total of 2,300 ft^2, so a small lawn. Takes me 15-20 minutes to cut it. Mine came with the bag, which, although it works, could be better. I cut my lawn every 3-4 days to avoid it getting too high. I bought the seven-blade model because I felt it would be better than the five-blade. More blades have less chance of pushing the grass before the next blade cuts it. Kinda like a six-blade razor vs a one-blade. Once I’m done mowing, I spray the blades with a dry lube or WD-40 and put it away. What is different is that with this mower, you can’t get as close to a wall or edge due to the wheel as you can with a rotary mower. Here, the blades are inboard of the wheels vs a rotary that has the deck/blade wider than the wheels. ... show more

I really like this manual mower. The only complaint I have is even when it hits the smallest of twigs. It will stop you in your tracks. It does cut the grass nicely and I feel like it’s a great alternative to battery or motor powered mowers. If you are one that likes to catch the grass clippings, the bag does fill up rather fast. If you’re looking to get in lots of steps, this is the mower for you. ... show more

took me a a little longer than i want to admit to figure out the bagger but this is great. i have a small area of my yard that is fenced in that my ride on mower couldn't get to and did not want to deal with another battery or gas powered tool in my garage so i decided to go old school. its light enough to lift over the fence when i need it and easy to push around. bonus points that the color is super cute! ... show more

Bought this about a year and a half ago and can say that it does exactly what you need it to do! Very straight-forward and easy to use. No batteries, extension cords, or gas required... just YOU power. I've got a bigger yard, that's got some downward inclines here and there- and this little guy's got me covered on getting it all trimmed up and looking nice! Sticks and rocks will bring it to a screeching halt, so be sure to clear any of that stuff out of its path.     • More trouble than it's worth

I received this reel mower , first of all the e clips were missing ,and secondly the blades were so tight that they wouldn't turn. I watched a YouTube video on how to fix it. The adjusting screws were so tight I had a hard time turning them and when I tried to adjust the back cutting blade shield I couldn't make it cut. Now I have to go to a lawn mower repair shop to fix it. I would return it but most is put together. I hope others don't have the same problem I had ... show more

I was so skeptical! But I must say I am highly impressed with this mower. I have a small yard and wanted something simple to use and this is definitely getting the job done. Assembly took less than 15 minutes and they provide a step by step guide and video to assist.
