It sounds good for what im looking for. I believe the carbon cone is what helps give it more kick in the 200hz range then other speakers. I have a pillar mids and tweeters so I wanted a door mid that had kick for some rock but I needed good sound since I listen to less chaotic music normally. These sound clean in the upper mids with the right cut off. They fit right In with my hertz millie legends. And when the Tom drum hits or that power surge songs do to get you pumped up goes they shake your leg hairs. My only issue is they do tend to get mechanically noisy on the hard pushes but I think thats also because im sending them more power then the set is rated for. Not a distorted sound but like the door panel is vibrating. Doesn't happen when quiet only when you're trying to blow them. Compared to prv neo's mids and ferrite midbasses deaf bonce arnolds and every 6.5 ds18 I could find these are outstanding even with the noise which again im going for spl build so when its in music mode its fine. I think the 8s might make me a happier person idk. ... show more

Speakers sound great all 4 of them, I'm running a ct sounds 150.4 1k, a prv ex4.6 pro and a noise isolator and no cracking or popping or alternator noise people like to blame the speakers for the sounds that they make but then don't know how to tune there stuff or just running a straight amo to them

Putting over 100 watts to these speakers causes them to pop and crack. Had to back down on amp gain and readjust levels to get em sounding good. Have these in rear doors, still not as good or loud as my ORION XTR 6.5 component set up in front of my Silverado crew cab.
