The first thing that I noticed when I opened the package for this pump was the compact size of it. I had an Ameda pump for my first two pregnancies (got the pump 7 years ago) and I loved everything about it except for the larger size of the motor part. I couldn't easily move around while pumping, and this made it difficult to take care of two young children at the same time. However, the MYA Joy pump has a handheld unit that can be powered by batteries and clipped right to my waist! I love it! I also really like that it has a digital screen on the front (my original pump had a dial to turn). This makes it a lot easier to customize the suction and makes it very user friendly. I also appreciate that Ameda includes a full set of extra parts for the pieces that need replaced over the course of the first few months (to keep everything sanitary). This takes the stress away of worrying about ordering extra parts in the beginning. Overall, I have had great experiences with Ameda pumps and I am eager to use this one. Ameda pumps are reliable, last a long time, have great suction, and work very well. I would highly suggest the MYA Joy pump to any new mom who is in search of a great breast pump. ... show more

I'm mainly pumping breast milk and this is the 3rd pump I've used. One was awful, one is portable and convenient, and this pump works the best in emptying milk from full breasts! It also comes with extra parts for the future!

Loved the 2 modes and how easy it is to operate But it's too bad the cones are only 25 or 28 and if you need the smaller size you need to order it separately. It's very powerful, I use level 8 out of 12. Very quite (I had an older Ameda pump) and works great on batteries if you need to travel

I used to have the old Ameda Mya Joy, where is cake with a battery pack inside it, to where you could just plug it in and it would recharge. That is now the down fall with this upgrade, yes it’s portable but those 4 AA batteries only last 24 hours. So it’s gonna get expensive to be portable. My older model started to turn itself off, and I was very hopeful this model would be just had awesome as that one. Not really the case. ... show more

This pump sucks - and not in a good way. It doesn't have enough suction for me even if I was single pumping. I do not recommend this pump. Especially if you're going to be pumping a lot. I picked this because a co-worker had recommended it and she liked it and I used a hospital Ameda pump after birth and it worked well. Such a disappointment. ... show more

If you have ever used a breast pump, you know how difficult it can be to be tied to it and immobile, especially with a new baby nearby. This pump is fantastic for pumping on the go (car) or around your house. The pump has A LOT more power than other portable ones I’ve used. It is super easy to put together and learn to use. Again, much easier than other portable pumps I’ve tried. My favorite feature is that the display screen shows you how long you’ve been pumping! (A pumping mom must have designed that! Soooo helpful!)
