  • A True All-rounder CPU With Zero Compromises
This CPU is finally the best of all worlds. I had a 9950X3D (which I just sold for almost the price I paid for it) and there were some random issues with the scheduler. In games I'd get some infrequent but significant stutters, which I found out was the scheduler sometimes switching to the non-3D CCD. I caught it red handed doing so during a few of the stutters. I'm happy to report that those stutters are now gone. In addition I'm also modeling the impact of shear force on protein denaturation, and this is showing a whopping 20-30% increase in that workload! I also noticed that at least for my CPU, both CCDs are running at the same exact speed under full load out of the box (5.1GHz). The old X3D had one CCD running 5.1 and the other at 4.9. This, again, avoids scheduler issues with the only holdup between both CCDs being the interconnect. I feel like this is AMD's first true all-rounder CPU where it can just do any workload thrown at it without compromising. The only thing I could ask for now is for improvements to the IMC such that 8000MT/s runs as easily as 6000 does today. That would be the ultimate package, but I digress, this is almost as good as it can get. ... show more

  • Fast and productivity. Games and workload.
You can felt the speed deference. I upgrade from a 7950x and no regrets. Worth the investment.

  • #1 consumer grade CPU for emulation & modded games
This CPU is an absolute monster when it comes to emulation and heavily modded games, which was the core reason I bought it. While it may thrive more for workstation related things or AI productivity, its ability to just tank through so many assets and things being loaded at once or modlists that are rather unoptimized is astonishing. Highly recommended for those who are very into emulation or highly modded games especially Skyrim, Fallout, or Minecraft, but isn't really practical for those who go for more casual experiences. It does run fairly hot out of the box so I highly recommend undervolting or using an excellent cooler. ... show more

  • Incredible CPU, but the Math Doesn't Make Sense at $899 Incredible CPU, but the Math Doesn't Make Sense at $899
Let's get one thing straight: the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition is an absolute powerhouse. Having 3D V-Cache on both CCDs is an awesome engineering feat that makes core scheduling much easier and delivers fantastic, buttery-smooth performance in heavy workloads and gaming alike. However, I absolutely cannot recommend this CPU solely on performance at its current price tag of $899. When you compare the benchmark gains against the standard 9950X3D, there simply isn't enough of a performance leap to justify spending an additional $200. For a consumer-grade CPU, $700 is already a premium, enthusiast-level price point—and realistically, that is exactly where the 9950X3D2 should be priced. Until AMD drops the price to around $700 to match the actual performance delta, save your money and stick with the standard 9950X3D. ... show more

  • Flagship dual 3D-Vache CPU
-Very fast CPU -Designed for enthusiast gamers/professional content creator -comes with dual 3D-VCache to lower latency but improve performance Cons: -Requires 200w TDP which you will now need an AIO liquid cooler, otherwise this CPU will definitely thermal throttle, no matter what air cooler you run with. -you will need isopropyl alcohol and thermal paste when install new AIO liquid cooler which I highly recommend ASUS ROG Ryujin 3 Extreme or ASUS ROG Ryuo IV non-SLC 360mm AIO or better -Very expensive at $900 USD which is not recommended for average gamers -Only works with AM5 socket motherboard which may require the latest BIOS, regardless MB vendor such as ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, Biostar, etc. Verdict: Very simple and easy to install. Yes, it can get very hot if you're using an air cooler Noctua NH-D15G2, for instance. Once your CPU thermal throttling kicks in, CPU frequency begins to dramatically decrease over time which can cause serious framerate issue, stuttering issue, and eventually leads choppy gameplay experience which is very bad! Therefore, AMD strongly recommends that you will now need to purchase an AIO cooler which is sold separately! Other than that, performance and latency was excellent. I'm now able to render the videos faster, easy to live broadcast during livestream, easy to record gameplay footage and also compile shaders faster in both gaming and productivity. ... show more
