  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good option for price point
Size: 12" Style: Paper Trimmer
I bought this product and the X-Acto brand. Not sure how the blades will hold up on each product (arguably most important part to review), but for the initial comparison to X-Acto, here are my thoughts. Pros: Price: $10 cheaper Storage: lighter and in general smaller, so it’s easier to store. Features: has a clamp to hold down your paper next to the blade so your fingers don’t slip and get chopped. Cons: Because it is so light, you have to hold the base down whenever you’re lifting the blade. Doesn’t show measurement markers. Only includes 1 main ruler. Overall, I think this is the best option if you’re just using it to get straight lines and avoid scissors. However, if you need exact measurements (I’m cutting invitations and envelopes), I’d recommend the X-Acto brand. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars I had high hopes
Size: 12" Style: Paper Trimmer
It almost cuts straight, does that count. I'm a paper crafter and I need straight cuts but I have yet to find any paper cutter/trimmer that cuts perfectly straight. And don't tell me Fiskars because that company is some of the worst offenders in selling trimmers that don't cut straight. I prefer guillotine trimmers over blade because I feel they are more accurate. However, this one still cuts a little off, not bad but still not straight. Also, the entire thing is black even the measurement markers are the same color as the rest of the trimmer. I had to use a silver sharpie marker to color the numbers so I could see them clearly. The half inch grid pattern that comprises the flat surface where you lay the paper is also confusing. It should never have had indentions, it should just have had lines. All that being said, it's super sharp and it does a pretty decent job. I'll use it until I think I've found something better, which will probably be a long time. ... show more

I like this. It is easy to line up paper to cut and I find myself using it for all my projects where I need to size my papers. Easy and lightweight.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Not For Tarot Card Trimming
Size: 12" Style: Paper Trimmer
I got this paper trimmer since at the time I was impatient and could only afford this one versus the Fiskars card trimmer. I trimmed my Spiritsong Tarot deck and… it’s very frustrating. I tried lining up the card to the built in top paper guide guide, used a metal ruler to view where the blade would hit past the guard and it didn’t line up but I’m not just talking about being a sliver off I’m talking like you pull the blade down to cut and it pulls the card slightly so it cuts at a slant. I tried to correct this by taping down a plastic ruler to the top and lining the card up to it with a triangle ruler on the left to cradle the card (See Dawn Michelle from Boho Tarots method) This did not resolve the slant. So I tried slicing it facing away as well as forward to see if the two slants would meet and even each other out, this was not the case and made a slight conical thing on the long edges. I was really antsy to trim this deck so I’d finally use it so I finished it anyway using the best fine tuning I could muster with this thing. I cut my thumb because I was being huffy and puffy but I think it’s possible it is a vampiric little bugger and cut me on purpose to feed on me. I also wanted to finish trimming the deck to properly give it a chance to explain itself and it did. It is simply not meant to trim cardstock. Every 4th or 5th card the blade didn’t cut a tiny sliver left of an edge at the bottom so I would have to kind of saw at it… TL:DR Don’t buy this one for trimming your tarot cards. Wait for the Fiskars one to go on sale or save up the extra $10 for it because it’s just not worth the risk of this thing. ... show more
