  • Solid cable lock
This is a good solid lock. Just as secure as any cable lock. Great for locking your bike to a car rack or a quick lock up to run into a store.

  • Don’t waste your money! Not well designed or durable
The cable and the lock mechanism are barely adequate; the rotating dials are very cheap plastic and don't turn well. This item feels like a factory second. There are much much better options than this brand. The deal-killer is the terrible design of the end caps -- and not clear why they are even needed. They rely on tiny plastic clips to stay on the lock body, they will break within days, and the caps will silently fall off while the lock is coiled and you are riding. The last time, I didn't notice I lost one until I got home, and I was very lucky to find the end cap the next day after retracing my 5-mile route. I now have them both glued and taped on, but its very ugly and cheap looking. Eventually tossed the whole lock in the garbage, its a complete waste of money. ... show more

  • Terrible flimsy bracket.
The lock is kind of flimsy when it's not locked. When unlocked the casing slides away from the combination dials fairly easily. When it's locked however, it seems pretty solid and I was not concerned about security with it. The most disappointing thing for me was the bracket. I wanted a lock with an easy to use bracket to hold the lock firmly in place while I'm riding. The bracket was very flimsy and the bracket for both locks I purchased broke within a few weeks. The Kryptonite Kryptoflex has the slightly annoying habit of a digit in your set combination shifting one unit over a period of time, but otherwise it's a solid lock with a great bracket at a decent price. I much prefer the Kryptoflex over this lock. ... show more

  • Excellent bike cable-lock
The Onguard 12mm cable-lock is a very reasonable compromise between security, convenience, and price for most people / cities (but not for bikes you should not leave in the street anyhow ;-) The rollers turn easily. Contrary to what's been reported, you can't find the number by trying until it "catches". I don't think it can be cut with normal bolt-cutters (you'd have to use a power tool). Unlike with U locks, you can tie it not just to racks, but also to lamp posts, trees, etc. ... show more

  • Difficult lock, bad customer service
The lock is so tight that I had to call customer service, they got back to me a week later. Called a locksmith and he talked me through opening the lock. You have to hold the sides in as you move the number tumblers.

  • Lock was keyed not combination
Nice lock, but it is keyed, i ordered the combination lock

  • I like it
I use this to lock a fence inside a storage closet. I like the aesthetics of these locks - big numbers, big dials, easy to flex. I don't use it for super-high security but let's face it, if a dirt bag really-really wants your stuff, they'll cut it, burn it, have a goat chew it, -whatever. Good lock for general dirt bag security. ... show more

  • Not a user friendly lock
I had bought a bicycle lock with a code from this company years ago that worked very well so I was expecting the same from this lock. However, I found it impossible to set the lock code. The whole mechanism was very tight and I could not turn the wheels to set the code. Instructions were also ambiguous. Would not recommend this lock. ... show more
