This coat is at the center of a Venn diagram of warmth, comfort and price. I initially bought a XL and XXL, but ended up keeping the XXL as it gave me more room to wear a variety of layers underneath and room to sit or squat down without feeling restrained. I wore it to Montreal recently, where the average temperatures were 13F/-10C during the day and -1F/-18C at night, and I was so grateful for it blocking the wind, for the length of the coat, and for the ease of zipping and un-zipping it as I went in and out of places. Two other things I like about this coat: it’s surprisingly lightweight, which I appreciated because I had to haul it around two airports, and the color is exactly as advertised (I purchased tan, although I see it more as ochre or a dark-ish mustard). For reference I’m 5’11” (1.8 m) and 230 lbs (104 kg) with 48in (121cm) hips - the coat is 40.5in (102cm) long (from where the neck meets the shoulder to the hem - it falls to about 2in above my knees) and is 26in (66cm) wide from armpit to armpit and fans out to 29in (73cm) at the bottom hem. ... show more

I sized up because the AI assistant suggested it for me and some reviews said it runs slightly small. It is true to size though, no need to size up. It’s puffier than I expected, would probably be good for winter. I would have reordered my regular size but it smelled of some dye or something so badly, I decided not to. The length is great, the knitted cuffs on the sleeves are fantastic, the zipper is OK, it does get stuck but not badly and is easily fixable. The quality seems 4/5. ... show more

This is my second Amazon essentials coat. Live in a very cold freezing ice storms/snow environment. Keeps me toasty. And my legs warm due to the long length. Love this coat. Very warm, comfy. There are snaps on the sides. Washed this twice and looks great. Was worried about size and I ordered a large. A medium would have been just as comfy with extra layers.

EDIT: just wore this coat for a 5 day trip and while it kept me warm, on day 2 the metallic fabric started peeling off on both sleeves around the wrist. I was hoping it would last at least one winter but no such luck. Exactly the color I was looking for, not too bright good not too dull. So far it has kept me warm in the cold fall we've had. It's a bit on the bulky side, especially the hood which doesn't stay flat down. The zipper goes bottom up too so makes it easy to sit down while wearing this coat. My reason to take one star off is the pockets, they have a check button that is impossible to open / close while wearing the coat as you need both hands.
