I like these now but it took a few exchanges to FINALLY get the right size. I normally wear a size 4 but they were too tight so I got a 6 and still not right. I tried again and got an 8 and they fit like my 4’s do. Very weird that there was such a big size difference.

I am 5'3, 145-150 lb, very pear shaped. I ordered these shorts in 3 colors: olive, cream, and black -- all in size 6. However all three have different measurements. The olive pair fit perfectly but the cream one is about 1/4 inch smaller, and the black one (they accidentally sent a flower pattern one) is the smallest by about a whole inch and I can't button it up. I will try to order them again and see if it's any different this time. I do love the olive ones. Perfect amount of butt coverage and loose fit on the upper thighs without looking too much like Bermuda shorts

These are nicely made, quality shorts. You might want to size up by at least one size, or go with the biggest size you sometimes wear. I have curvy bum and hips, and I usually wear a 10 to an occasional 12 depending on the cut. Since this said it was curvy style I ordered a 10. I do appreciate that with this cut probably most people can find a fit for their hips and not have gape at the waist (many shorts that fit my hips have big gape at waist but not these, yay for curvy cuts). The 10 is acceptable, and will probably stretch with wear but it’s quite snug and the pockets are gaping more than I’d like (I might sew the pockets down). I probably should have sized up to 12, but it’s very possible once a 12 stretched out with wear the 12 would be too big. This is a traditional thick cotton fabric that has no stretch to its composition, but this material relaxes with wear, so depending on the fit you want it might actually be good to have it a bit too tight at first.

Unfortunately, I never used the shorts yet. I bought them just because everyone wears shorts this year. However I like my old shorts more. Nothing is wrong with the shorts, fabric is good and fitting is good. Probably, I like longer shorts and I shouldn’t buy 5 inches shorts, that is it. I bought my usual size, it was the perfect fit.

These are just good, basic twill shorts. I got the back. Since they loosen up a bit when you wear them, I wish I had gotten a size smaller but I still wear them for errands and hanging around the house.

There are absolutely not the same shorts as...Amazon Essentials Women's 5 Inch Inseam Chino Short (Available in Plus Size). I returned these because they are not a women's plus W and you definitely need to go up a size. I prefer the other Amazon Essentials listed above, they are a true Women's plus size and you actually need to order a size down in that one. Either way bothbare good quality shorts, but the sizing is not comparable at all.
