I'm an older guy, with an average waist and chicken legs. Looking for shorts with legs that don't billow like sails. Slim fit pants and shorts are supposed to have narrower than regular leg openings. Bought 3 pairs of these "slim fit" shorts. Unfortunately, they have larger leg openings than my regular shorts! Great quality, nice soft material, huge leg openings. Interestingly I bought a pair of Amazon Essentials pants in slim fit- perfect. These shorts are a good price, but not a good value if I have to pay $15 per pair to alter them! Returning them.

I've been really really impressed with Amazon Essentials so far. Last year, I bought a pair of the Amazon Essentials short (9", regular-fit). At that time, I don't think they were offering the 7" short, nor the slim-fit version. Basically, I was happy with these shorts. I wore them for practically the entire summer and found them to be very durable, though I would always cuff the shorts and wished that they were slightly slimmer in the thigh. Enter the 7" slim fit version - my wish for a shorter/slimmer version of the Amazon has been answered! To me, the quality of the shorts feels on par with J. Crew or Banana Republic, that is, more expensive/'premium' brands. Definitely better than H+M or other 'fast fashion' brands, as I've had shorts from them that have fallen apart in a couple of months. Very happy with the length/fit of these shorts - true to size. I am 5'10", 165 lbs w/ an athletic/runner's thigh build and wear a 31 or 32 in most common brands (Levi's, J. Crew, Banana Republic, etc.). 32 in these fit perfectly.

I really wanted to like these shorts. I liked almost everything about them: they seem well-made, the color was great (I got silver) the waist fit well, the inseam was perfect (I don’t like shorts that come down to the knee). But the width of the leg opening was far too wide. I am a thin person but even still, I shouldn’t be able to fit half of another leg in these. They are not “slim fit” as described. I’d say they fit more like “dad shorts.”

excellent fit. these are some of the best fitting shorts that I have purchased in a long time. If you are tall they may be a bit short but for me at 5'11" there perfect. the ride about 3 inches above the knee

Want to show those quads off? These are the shorts for you. Awesome stretch fabric that hugs your skin for the ultimate look. You could even order a smaller waist size if you want them tighter. Gotta say, Amazon is making some high quality comfortable clothes at a very reasonable price. You can even try them out on prime wardrobe before you buy them. Trust me, your girl will like your butt in these!

Bro, theses shorts will outlive me. Like if I was on a hike, and I suddenly lost my footing, I would trust these shorts more than rope. Like I could tie them to my wife’s truck and pull it down the road. Like they’re probably bulletproof. Idk that I would test that though. Oh, technically-great stitching, good construction in the crotch and waistband, wish there was just a little give in the waist. Definitely my 2nd favorite pair of shorts though, and great for weddings and funerals. 👍
