WOW, what a surprised this was. It packs a punch. I read the reviews. I have had this for a few weeks now and use on occasion as we've had weird weather. Some days are 70 and no humidity with high 50's for nights so I don't use but on the 90 degree days and high humidity, it runs all day. It's small size is great as I can pick it up and install myself. Only 30 some pounds. No remote, but I knew that when ordering and don't really care. It's quiet, performs great, gets incredibly cold. After I received and installed in window, I let it sit about 48 hours before using in case during the shipment it was on side or upside down. I wanted the coolant to settle back before using. I have had this unit for a few weeks, and I can't believe how exceptionally well it performs to cool down my 130 square-foot bedroom. Today I turned it on when the bedroom was 83F, and within 30 minutes the temperature fell 6 degrees It is a bit noisy when running the air conditioner full blast with the compressor on, but only does so when turning it on initially in a hot room. Once it has cooled the room down to the desired temperature, it is a bit noisy but again, only when the compressor kicks on to lower the temperature back to the desired level, then it becomes quiet again until the compressor comes back on. The unit is easy to install, and the instructions are easy to follow. It appears to be built of high-quality components. It is wonderfully priced for such a high-quality unit. This thing works, though for a 150 SqFt bedroom, I really had higher hopes. It was easy to install, and it is relatively quiet. It does cool the room down, but really struggles to keep up with the Florida heat as the hottest part of the day roles around. But it works great at night and improves my sleep quality. As far as power, it gets the room cool most of the time, as far as condition, it was new and arrived in tact, and as far as appearance...it is a window unit. ... show more

Okay. I live in the deep south! I purchased this window unit for my bedroom to help stay frosty at night. It arrived perfect and not damaged. It was easy for my husband to install. I have had this air conditioner for close to 2 months now. I am pleasantly surprised at how well this air conditioner works. Being able to get this air conditioner was such a blessing and a life saver for me. My apartment was just so unbearably hot. The prices of air conditioners are just too high for me to afford. The price for this one at the time that I bought it was something I was able to afford. It works so well. My bedroom is a small room, and it keeps it so cool. It's perfect for what I needed. I had my handyman install this air conditioner during a heat wave, and he couldn’t stop commenting on how small it was. The unit weighs about 35 pounds, and I don’t think it’s very energy efficient, so I’ll be interested to see what my electric bill looks like this month. On its own, even on the maximum cooling setting, it isn’t powerful enough to cool my 14 ft. × 10 ft. living room. However, adding a fan on medium speed makes a noticeable difference and keeps the room comfortably cold. For the first two days, the unit was surprisingly quiet while running on max. By the third day, though, it became noticeably louder and not as cold. It was hard to sleep at night with the loud noise. It doesn’t seem designed to run continuously on the highest setting for days at a time. I turned it off for a few hours and then switched it back to max because the lower settings were too weak they feel more like a fan than an air conditioner, which matches what another reviewer mentioned. Another reviewer said the unit works well if you turn it on ahead of time with the door closed, and I agree. That advice makes sense, especially for a very small room. I can see it getting icy cold in a closet-sized space, but it’s underpowered for a larger living area. At the $180 price point, I wouldn’t buy it again. The exterior is almost entirely plastic, though the interior components appear to be metal. Since I’m renting, it’ll do the job for now, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone expecting strong cooling performance. Rating: 3/5 stars. ... show more
