It’s likely Amazon copied this from another manufacturer that sold well to make higher margins direct to buyers. If that bothers you, I would seek the original maker. That said, we use this in our living room to store blankets and pillows for the couch for a movie or TV night. We’ve also purchased a much cheaper storage ottoman with a top you can remove, but I wish I had found this one earlier. I think this should last us longer without worrying about keeping it pristine as a future family heirloom. With that in mind I found the build quality high for the price. I wouldn’t recommend using it as a stool. For seating by a front door it would be fine. We have hard floors, and the feet slide a bit. If it bothers me I’ll add sled adhesive rubber pads below the feet. The lid has a single hinge to protect anyone’s hands when you let go of the top, and it’s spring tension is so strong you have to force it down to close it. Some people may find that slightly annoying, but I’d rather have it than a lid that rests on my head while I rummage. The cushioning on top is firm as there isn’t much foam over the particle board (assumption) lid top. For kicking your feet up, it’s not a problem at all. Even our pups like to lay on it from time to time. I think this could withstand two or three moves no problem if you wrap it. If it degrades quickly I’ll update my review and lower the rating. If it lasts 6+ years for us I’ll be happy. My guess is the fabric upholstery will be the first to degrade. The gray is slightly warm with a cross hatch texture. I like it. For anyone with a smaller space who needs multi-use furniture, is on a budget but doesn’t like to buy the cheapest option out there, and feel too lazy to go to IKEA, this is a solid option.

This was a pleasant surprise and a great addition to my love seat. I didn't have high expectations because of the price but I am impressed. I live in a small apartment so I needed a tall enough ottoman that I could lounge with. When it arrives, in a large box, it is already fully assembled, wrapped in plastic, and shipped with edge protectors so it doesn't get damaged. Its surprisingly lightweight and very sturdy. I was able to cary the entire thing up 14 steps of stairs without help and I can sit on it normally without feeling any cracks or dipping in the frame. The storage compartment is nice for my spare blankets and pillows. The cushion is just right to kick my legs up after a long shift at the hospital. I plan on buying 2 more. 1 for my room and 1 for my entryway so I have something to sit on to put my shoes on. You really need to get this now before they raise the price.

I wanted a place to keep all my extra throws and pillows and this was a great solution. It is quite plain. Looks exactly like it does in the picture. It blends in with the decor of my room and it does hold quite a bit. It's narrow which is useful because it means it doesn't take up that much room. I'm glad I got it.

I originally ordered the beige ottoman but it was too peachy and clashed with the color of our loveseat so we sent it back and ordered the light gray one because our couch pillows have gray in them. We love it and it was $20 cheaper than the beige one! Plus the gray one arrived just 24 hours after we sent back the beige one. These little ottomans are well made and a great deal for the money. They also hold quite a bit of pillows and blankets. I love it!
