We use a ton of ethernet cables at work. We have network phones and wired PC's so every work station has 2 ethernet cables. These cables are so inexpensive compared to the local stores and the multi-pack is more than convenient for my purposes. These cables perform exactly as well as the more expensive options and I have not experience any issues with them. I would warn that these may not fit if you are used to cramming them behind a fixed counter. We have one desk that is affixed just slightly away from the wall and previously we used to force a network cable between the desk and the wall (about the width of your pinky). This cable has extra plastic around the end of the cable to protect the tab from breaking and the end of the cord from fraying. This makes it quite a bit thicker than the old cords. However, this makes the cord more sturdy and I prefer it this way.

First of all these are cables so not much that can go wrong. The cables themselves look good and feel well built. With Amazon being a leader of data centers, you would thing they would design the perfect network cable, unfortunately there is an annoying design flaw. The jacks are surrounded by a thick rubber which makes it hard to squeeze them into tight spaces. You can force them, but they start to lean and I was concerned that this would damage the ports on my router. The fix is pretty simple, luckily the material is rubber and not hard plastic. I took a sharp knife and was able to whittle away the excess rubber. Now my custom modified cables fit as they should. Check out my images, the 4 cables on the switch are modified, the one cable at the end is untouched because I had enough room there that it didn't matter. but you can see the difference. I hope that Amazon addresses this issue as it's a great product otherwise.

Call me old school, but I like a good ol' fashioned wired network. It's faster for streaming media, goes through walls better than wifi (if you're not afraid of using a power drill), and doesn't have all that frequency and channel business to deal with. If you've got stuff that sits on a shelf or a counter, wire it up, because chances are its not going anywhere, and that'll keep your wifi free to watch cat videos on your phone. There are plenty of people who will try to charge an arm and a leg for some slightly flashier version of this cable, but this pretty much the best bang for your buck right here (specifically the 5-pack of 5 foot patch cables). 1 gbps is more than fast enough for most folks, and if you need more speed, then you (probably) don't need my help picking out network cables.

These cables arrived this afternoon. I wanted to set up an internal home wireless network without internet. I'm not skilled on my own to do that! But, the cable tried. The router worked and tried to get things set up. I'm sure we will be using them when I can get some help that knows more than I do. One thing -- the little clip that keeps the plug engaged is not lined up well with the rubber tip. You have to dig a little deeper to get it to unplug.

I needed a bunch of shorter black cables for a 5-port switch I bought and this product did the trick. Cables are good quality - the sheath is not flimsy and the connectors are not pulling away from the sheath. The connectors’ locking tabs are not flimsy and I’ve plugged and unplugged them all many times as I’ve rearranged my gaming/entertainment center. It’s hard to beat this price too. Definitely recommend!
