This is very powerful at busting through dark and even caked-on stains when deeply embedded into carpet fibers. My cat had a stomach bug recently, and pretty much went up and down my hallway throwing up on the pale beige carpet for half a week. A couple of spots dried in completely while I was out during the day. While my poor baby is thankfully feeling better now, I needed something really powerful to clean my poor carpets! This advises spot-treating bad stains before using in your wet vacuum, and although I followed the product to water ratio on the bottle my mistake was putting the product into the spray bottle FIRST- it turned to foam and exploded out of the bottle like a science fair volcano. Put the water into a spray bottle first, then add product slowly, and you'll be fine. A few spritzes of that on trouble spots a vigorous rubbing with a washcloth did such an impressive job that it almost looked as if I had already been through with the vacuum! This foams up to white bubbles ("Oxy" power at work) and really does penetrate deep, even the caked on solids broke up and lost color quickly with this and some warm water scrubbing. I finished by loading this into the tank of my wet vacuum, in place of the usual stuff but only a third as much, just in case, and doing the usual two-pass up and down treatment. By the end my carpets looked practically as if I'd had them done by a professional! The fumes of this stuff in the air will knock you flat, obviously you'll need the windows open, and in my case a big industrial fan to help the carpet dry quickly, but I can say for certain, this is the most powerful carpet cleaner I've ever used. I really like the Amazon Basics oxy fresh scent carpet cleaner. I use it in my upright Bissell carpet cleaning machine. We have a dog and at times our home can start to smell. This cleaner has been perfect at getting out stains and leaving a fresh clean scent. This product is Safer Choice certified which is important to me. This product also costs less than other name brands so I would definitely recommend this one. ... show more

Ordered this so I wouldn't have to go to the store and find it. Cheaper than all the options available at Target online. Smell is acceptable, I don't really want a scent from something like this personally and it wasn't too strong to bother me but I imagine most people would be pleased with it based on the scent. As far as the cleaning goes, I see no appreciable difference comparing this and the name brand Bissell cleaner fluid I used previously recommended by my carpet cleaner manual. One of my cats has a chronic medical problem that will occasionally cause him to have little accidents, and this stuff has worked great. I honestly prefer the scent of this one more than other big brand pet carpet cleaning solutions. It definitely has a chemical smell, but is not nearly as strong as others. I've used it on both carpet and vinyl plank flooring with no issues of discoloration. It removes the cat pee smell well enough that my other cats show no interest in the area. ... show more

Used this in my Bissell Green Machine and it worked great. Tried it on a few urine stains left from our dogs and it lightend them to almost not visible. Also tried it on grease/mud stains and they lifted easily.

This did a good job cleaning a few areas of chunky cat vomit from both carpet and several types of fabric (our cat is always seeking to explore a new medium). I’d strongly prefer an unscented version. The scent isn’t as overpowering as some cleaning products can be, but I did notice when I left the room and came back again.
