It's heavy and cumbersome. It's helpful to have assistance. Have it where you want it before opening. Not as firm as ppl have committed. It took a slight bit of getting used to but is very comfy. Back doesn't hurt when sleeping on it. It has a coolness. But I hesitate to mention as a buying option. The price can't be beaten for the quality. I'm very impressed. Highly recommend. That's not to say that it isn't a good mattress. Just that there were somethings I wish I knew before purchase. For the record, this review is for the "Amazon Basics Cooling Gel Infused Firm Support Latex-Feel Mattress, CertiPUR-US Certified - Full Size, 12 inch" (Full, 12-inch Alt Latex, Firm Feel) The positives: 1. Arrived fast 2. Easy to 'dissamble' and setup. 3. I run hot. This mattress is very breathable so this is a boon for the heat hogs out there. 4. I have only had it for two weeks. So can't say definitively as to its durability. But on first impression, I'd say it is durable. The negatives: 1. The firmness of the mattress leaves much to be a desired. I found it slightly too plush/soft for me. If given a scale from 1-10 where 1 is akin to a cloud and 10 as akin to 4 yoga mats stacked on top of eachother on a hard wood floor, this mattress is 6-7. 2. The edges of the bed has too much give; when sitting on it, one finds oneself 'sliding' off a little. It has too much give. 3. You really do need to give it between 42-72 hours to deflate. These things being said, this is a decent value for your money. If you are seeking a firm mattress, I'd look elsehwere. ... show more

    • Does not stay "firm" in any way shape or form.
The "alt latex" feels absolutely nothing like latex. But for the first few months, it was still fine and I was very comfortable! By six months later, I was absolutely miserable. Even with rotation and everything, this mattress now sinks down by about half the moment I lay down on it, and it's miserable. It's not just that it's too soft; it's not uniform, so it makes it very hard to do things like turn over in my sleep, and I wake up sore every single morning now. ... show more

It took me a long while to find a genuinely firm (and comfortable) mattress for a guest bedroom. This one fits the bill. It came in a surprisingly small box and once its plastic wrapper was removed, expanded like a butterfly. In less than 20 minutes it was fully deployed.     • Not QUITE what I was hoping for...
OK, this review is after using this matters since 10JUN2022. I made a mistake thinking I wanted the more firm 12 inch, alt latex, firm feel version....that was a mistake. I would have happier with one that was 10% - 15% LESS firm. I am about #200 and side sleep and I sometimes wake up with my shoulders and hips hurting as I was not supported enough by sinking in enough into the matters. I have slept on MANY of this type of matters in the past and had great sleep on THEM, but not this one. This mattress will stay where it is when I move, and I MAY get a topper for it.
