These Amazon Basics hybrid active noise cancelling headphones are anything but "basic." They sound great, the active noise cancelling is good, but doesn't cancel everything. I was using them at my kitchen table listening to music with the game on in the other room, and I could still hear some of it. However, for under $40, these are a steal compared to something from Bose or Beats or Sony that are routinely $100-200 for a similar set. The size is a little large on the smallest setting so it might not be the best fit with young people or someone with a smaller head. You can disable the hybrid ANC and without a recharge, they can play your music, audiobooks, podcasts for at least 45 hours of playback with ANC turned off. These are a high-quality over-the-ear headphones. The one feature missing in this set is a carrying bag, which is not included. Also, there is a charger included for these headphones. You do get a charging USB-A cable that you can plug into a charger. There is also an auxiliary cable included that you could plug into your device if you don't have bluetooth on that device. Otherwise, these premium headphones are great for a cost conscious consumer looking for the quality of the top audio sets.

I’ve owned a wide range of headphones from $20 beaters to $500 sets, but this is my first pair with active noise cancelling. Overall, I’d call these decent for the price with a few quirks worth pointing out. Pairing was simple, hold the power button, select them on your device, and you’re ready to go. Button functions are straightforward, and I was surprised to find you can even take calls through the headphones. I haven’t tested call quality yet, but it’s a nice option to have. There are three modes: NC on, NC off, and Transparent. In normal conversation level background noise, the NC effect was subtle. The real difference came when I tested them against a loud fan. The low frequency hum dropped noticeably, which seems to be the kind of sound these headphones are designed to reduce. Transparent mode works best with music paused, letting you hear voices and room sounds through the built in mics. The sound quality differs across modes. NC ON: Boosts the low end heavily. It helps mask noise but makes music sound a bit muddy. Fun for casual listening, not for accuracy. Transparent: Cuts lows sharply to prioritize outside sound, but with music playing you still won’t hear much of your surroundings. NC Off: Surprisingly the weakest mode. Flatter, thinner sound compared to NC On. Useful only if you’re stretching battery life. Overall, these headphones do a fair job cutting droning, low frequency noise but won’t give you silence. The sound signature changes a lot between modes, and I found NC On the most listenable even with its boomy bass. If you want perfectly balanced audio, you may prefer a non NC set at this price. But if you’re looking for entry level noise cancelling that works against fans, engines, or other steady rumbles, these aren’t a bad buy.

I got these Amazon Basics noise-cancelling headphones because I didn’t want to drop a fortune on a big-name pair, and honestly, I’m impressed. The sound is clear and full, bass is solid without being overwhelming, and the noise cancelling actually does its job. It’s not “world disappears completely” level, but it takes the edge off background noise so I can focus, whether I’m working or just zoning out with music. The first time I used them was on a long train ride, and I couldn’t believe how much quieter it felt. The rumble and chatter faded way down, and I was able to actually enjoy my playlist without cranking the volume. At home, I’ve been using them during work calls, and the fit is comfortable enough that I forget I have them on, even after a couple of hours. Battery life is another big win. I charged them once at the beginning of the week, and with ANC on, I’ve been using them daily without running out of juice. Knowing I can get 35–45 hours depending on settings means I don’t have to babysit the battery. If you’re looking for affordable, reliable headphones with surprisingly good sound and noise cancelling, these are a solid pick. They may not have the fancy brand name, but they definitely get the job done, and then some.

I am pleasantly surprised by these Amazon Basics headphones. Although the build is plastic, it's well done. Nothing garish here, just a nice, classical look. The fit is comfortable and the pads are soft. I guess my only quibble here is a problem common to all closed-back headphones: they get hot to wear for long periods of time. So what. They charged quickly; all the control buttons operate normally. Now to the sound. It's terrific for a budget set of cans. I acknowledge that I use an EQ program to tweak my phones. This one is no exception. Everyone's taste is different in these matters. With equalization the bass is just right...thumpy but not overly done. Trebles and mids are well balanced. Sound stage and imaging are great for this price point. Will you get your money's worth? Yep. Pick 'em up if you are looking for good sound at a reasonable price. These are better than a whole slew of similarly priced models.
