I’ve been very sick for weeks plus I have some serious old spine injuries that haunt me & with everything else going on sometimes even getting groceries in the house can be a chore. I was scared this might be too heavy. I almost teared up when it quietly opened with ease (no assembly needed)… I felt safe standing right on it.. I’m still dehydrated so I didn’t dare chance the 3rd step and likely never would as I’m 5’7” This is exactly what I needed to be able to hang my solar orbs in the trees this holiday season and it will help me get things off the high shelves inside. Just a couple of years ago I was still climbing on countertops like I was still in my 20s or stopping to help people in the grocery store reach things on the top shelf… Now I’m the one people are stopping to help lend a hand to off bended knee on the floor when the knee says I like it down here… ugh! IYKYK For me, a step stool needs to be : 1. light enough & comfortable for me to carry (this one is right over 13lbs & has a thick padded handle so it passes with flying colors) 2. needs to be pretty effortless to open & close (this one is a dream in that regard) 3. needs to have a small footprint because I don’t have a lot of Storage space (this one is just under 3” in depth which is great.., it is 17.7.” wide & 43” tall… I’d say you’re probably around 30” on that top step.. Maybe a little more I like that over 95% of the materials were recycled as that’s Earth friendly and I really appreciate the safety features & stable design which include non-slip rubber feet & grip handles, a reinforced steel frame, & wide, textured step treads as well as a safety locking mechanism that keeps ladder firmly in place when open. **Note that max weight for this step ladder is 200lbs though **

I have a number of step stool ranging from 2 steps to five steps. This step stool has three steps, and the top “step” is actually a large 10-1/2 by 13-3/4-inch platform suitable for standing. This platform is 27-38/- inches from the floor, and ribbed to give a better grip. Each of its four legs has a rubber-like boot that expands to contact area while protecting the floor and giving a steady grip. At nearly 14 pounds, this step stool is not light, but it is sturdy, and that to me is far more important. While there is a nicer looking black padded cover on the top rail, I have chosen to leave the white packing tube on the top rail for now as its coverage extends past the handle’s corners, preventing any marring of the wall where I currently have it leaning. Overall, I really like this basic step stool. It will probably not win any fancy design awards, but it is a solid performer. If you are looking for a step stool that you can COMFORTABLY stand on, which folds compactly for storage, and feels solid and stable under foot, I think you will like this one as much as I do. This Amazon Basics 3-step folding ladder is absolutely perfect for a house with tall cabinets and two teenage/adult sons who are always asking me to reach things, not to mention trying to get into the back of our utility closet, where I keep the pet food for our Golden Retriever and our two pet rats. Since this is made of a reinforced steel frame containing a high percentage of recycled iron, it feels incredibly sturdy and durable—the quality is clear, and for a product that's going to live mostly indoors in a dry area like a closet, I'm not worried about rust resistance. The fact that it comes fully assembled makes the ease of use and ease of installation a five-star experience right out of the box; you just unfold it, and the safety locking mechanism clicks firmly into place. The wide, anti-slip steps are excellent for stable footing, which is essential when juggling things like light bulbs or canned goods, and the way it folds down to a super slim 2.99 inches is fantastic—it tucks away perfectly behind the laundry room door. This sturdy, space-saving ladder is a great value and a necessary tool for managing a busy household.

If you just need a basic step ladder that is lightweight and easy to store, this is a good option. Likes: - Great value (as of this review). - Provides three stable steps to reach higher places. - Great for painting and cleaning, when you need to reach a couple of feet higher. - Lightweight an easy to carry. - Folds up compact for easy storage in a closet. Dislikes: - Being a budget step ladder, durabliity is not as good as more expensive models. There is more plastic and less metal, compared to more expensive options. Overall very happy with the step ladder for the price. It is holding up to regular use without issue so far. - Arrived in good condition without scratches or dents.

This Amazon Basics 3-step ladder was a big letdown. The build quality is poor, with rough metal edges that can easily scratch your hands. Although the pedals are supposed to be anti-slip, the ladder feels wobbly when you step on it, and I didn’t feel safe even on the second step. It also doesn’t fold smoothly — it often gets stuck and requires a lot of force to close. I expected a simple, convenient ladder for home use, but after trying it once, I’m too afraid to use it again. Terrible stability and not worth the money. I do not recommend buying this.
