The softness of this rug cannot be overstated. It is so plush and soft, with a non-slip backing that keeps it in place. It is thick and great quality. The color is beautiful and looks amazing. I bought this round rug because I wanted something soft and cozy to add a little warmth to my entryway, and it definitely does that. The fluffy texture feels really nice underfoot. This rug is crazy soft, and it looks nice enough for use in most casual settings, even though it's not quite as full or fluffy or thick as the photos in the listing. It's really thin and light, so light that at first we had trouble constantly tripping over it. It worked much better after we put it between a couple of chairs, so that there's something holding it in place. It's too thin to offer much padding between your feet and the floor, so I feel better using it on carpet than directly on hardwood. The beige color is close to being a deep cream or off-white, so it goes well with nearly any room decor. I had been anticipating a slightly darker color that wouldn't show dirt quite as easily, which also affected where it made sense to use the rug. Washing turned out just fine though - I washed it by itself on a cold delicate cycle, and it came through like a champ with minimal shedding. If I had to choose between a thicker, denser rug, and a rug that I can easily fit into the washing machine, this one wins every time.
