I thought it was gonna be terrible for the price. boy was i wrong. I'm a 'serious' musician, in a band, play out a lot yadda yadda. anyway the week before this pandemic lockdown happened i left a good portion of my live rig at the band space, but wanted to start playing on FB live, so i was like sure, for 20 bucks i'll give it a shot and not risk my life going out in public. It's awesome. great clarity, just as clear and crisp as my SM58, no feedback on same settings as the 58, love the on/off switch. i like the grill on the 58 better but what are you gonna do at this price point. at worst buy one as a backup. it's solid, heavy, and i love it. thanks amazon!

I am not a professional sound engineer or even a musician, but just as a data point, I compared this mic to the Focusrite Scarlett Studio C25 MKIII microphone, and the only thing I can say is that the CM25 might be a little more sensitive than this Amazonbasics one. But of course the two mics I mention are different types (MKIII is condensor, AB is dynamic), so it is probably not an apples-to-apples comparison. I bought this mic as a sacrificial one (one the kids can drop during karaoke without stressing me out), but after seeing how it performs, it is certainly one I will take care of! I think it is a good performer. The only caution I will note is that I have to turn my Scarlett USB interface gain all the way up in order to get the right level. Oh, and for any real recording, I recommend the AmazonBasics XLR cable rather than the included unbalanced one. Less buzz and more gain.

I use this mic primarily for Dj'ing small parties and karaoke. Its well built, has a solid base, good sound, and a long cord. Its been dropped on tile flooring 3x at this point and still works perfectly. Solid buy, would purchase again.

This Amazon branded mic worked perfectly, good price and quality is excellent, sound quality crisp and clear, loved that the mic cord is 25ft long! got it for my DJ streaming setup along with the mic stand shown in the included picture, clamps right on to any flat table surface, recommended purchase if you are looking for a decent mic .

Nice heavy build. The sound quality is pitched to the high side. Could easily be the amp it was being run through. I like it but it touchy and squawks quite a bit at higher levels, when attached to a more powerful amp.

For the money, this is an excellent microphone. With proper EQ and audio equipment, this thing will sound great. The built-in pop filter isn't the greatest in a studio setting, but is fine for live use (this isn't the best type of microphone for the studio anyway). The microphone is built well. I still prefer the SE V7 or an SM58, but this is a great back-up and can easily find a place in a budget mic bag or podcast rig.

They say "Buy once, cry once," meaning spend the money to get something of high quality, and you'll only cry at the moment of purchase. I am a home recording hobbyist, looking for a mic to use with my Korg Pa700. Since I wouldn't be traveling, or giving the mic to someone else, or doing anything other than mounting it on a scissor stand I thought I could save some money on this guy. I have an Amazonbasics fountain pen, and it's been a nice pen, so I assumed the Amazonbasics mic would be similar. WRONG. It cuts in and out, or off and on, and it's brand new. I set up a return immediately and ordered the Shure M58. Yes, it's five times the price. But from what I have read, it will last forever. Don't be fooled by the low price - you really do get what you pay for.
