This Dog Playpen (8 Panels Metal Fence with Door) is a fantastic, heavy-duty option for indoor and outdoor use. Pros: Quick and Easy Assembly: It is super easy and quick to set up. There is a definitive "left and right" to the panels and when lined up correctly, assembly is seamless without needing to lift the other side. Heavy and Sturdy: The pen is heavy and feels very sturdy. We were impressed that it is much taller than expected, providing a secure enclosure. Our 12-pound Yorkie mix and her three adult fur babies cannot jump over it and its weight makes it hard for a dog to tip over. Flexible Sizing: You can easily use as many or as few of the 8 panels as you like to customize the size and shape. Excellent Door Latch: The latch is well-designed; it can lock open or, when closing, the post will lock securely in place. The 3-foot height is ample for larger breeds and we feel the 2-foot height would be sufficient for smaller dogs like a Yorkie mix. Cons: Must Disassemble for Storage: The only significant drawback is that the hinges are soldered in the middle of the pole. This design, while making the pen sturdier, means you cannot simply collapse it flat for storage. You must pull out the connecting stakes and essentially disassemble the entire thing to push it out of the way. Overall: A great, large, and sturdy pen that provides a secure space for your dogs, but be prepared to fully disassemble it when you need to store it or move it flat.

The fence itself is nice, it is good quality and does not feel flimsy. My only issue is that the rods only go into the ground four inches. The fence panel is twenty four inches high so four inches does not allow for a lot of stability. The knubb on the top of the rod only allows it to be inserted just so far, leaving what I feel is an extra 3-4 inches that could go into the ground. For inside use they included covers to go on the bottom of the rod so they do not damage your floors.

First off this cage is super easy and quick to assemble. There’s definitely a left and right to each panel. If you have them lined up correctly, you don’t need to lift the other side. The latch can lock open or you can have the post out and it will lock in place when you close the door. I was under the impression this was going to be a small flimsy little corral. Boy was I wrong. It’s heavy and sturdy and much taller than I was expecting. I have a 7 pound yorkie that I thought would be able to jump over the 2 foot gate so I got the 3 foot. I thought it was definitely going to be a lighter weight material and the extra foot wouldn’t make a difference. It would just be a little taller and I would still be able to whip it out and hide it away when not in use. Ummmmmm. Nope. It’s large and sturdy and heavy. You are able to use as many or few panels as you like. I feel like if I had gotten the 2 foot height the smaller areas would have worked nicely for my dog, but I feel like when you take out panels and it’s this tall it kind of looks silly. I feel like if you have a Yorkie, the 2 foot height is probably sufficient. This 3 foot height would work well for larger dogs. The only thing I would consider removing a star for is the fact that the hinges are soldered in the middle of the pole. You aren’t able to just collapse it assembled you have to pull out the stakes. It will only fold to a 90° angle. I’m sure this makes it sturdier and harder for a dog to tip over. Which is why I did not remove a star, but it would’ve been nice if I could have just folded it flat to push it out of the way, but you really have to disassemble the whole thing. I currently crate my dog when I leave the house and I was hoping to just be able to set up this pen and then take it down when I get home. With the size of this it seems like that’s gonna be a lot of work. I should’ve gotten the smaller size. I definitely overestimated my dog and it makes a big difference if you plan to put it away when you’re done using it.
